AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: Taylor Swift delighted her fans, known as Swifties, with a performance in Amsterdam on Thursday night, July 4. 

Swift's outfit at the first concert of the 'Eras Tour' in the city has sparked discussions across various social media platforms, with many discussing whether her color choices were reminiscent of the Dutch flag or whether she was paying tribute to America on the Fourth of July.

According to USA Today, the 14-time Grammy winner will be touring extensively throughout the year. After completing her first day in Amsterdam, she is scheduled to perform two more shows before heading to Zurich, Switzerland.

It appeared she was introducing a new look reminiscent of her 1989 era. Fans were captivated as she performed her hit song 'Style' in a sparkling blue crop top paired with a red-orange skirt.

Swifties correctly identified this ensemble as a new addition to her wardrobe for this segment of her highly successful tour, as per TMZ.

Dutch fans enthusiastically praised her choice of attire, speculating that the blue and red-orange outfit was a nod to the Netherlands.

They noted that the Dutch flag originally featured blue, white, and orange, with red eventually replacing orange on the flag.

Taking place on the Fourth of July, one of Swift's favorite holidays, the concert also led American Swifties to believe the outfit was a tribute to America's birthday.

The pop star took to the stage at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam with a creative twist. She performed a mashup featuring 'Guilty As Sin' from 'The Tortured Poets Department' on guitar, blended with 'Untouchable' from 'Fearless'.



 

 

Switching to piano, Swift presented a mashup combining 'The Archer' from 'Lover' with 'Question...?' from 'Midnights'.

Swifties debate on significance of Taylor Swift's Amsterdam outfit

Following Taylor Swift's ensemble of blue and red-orange in Amsterdam, numerous internet users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their thoughts on her latest outfit. 

One social media user said, "Taylor Swift's "1989" outfit for tonight's show are in the colors of the Dutch/Netherlands flag! 🇳🇱."

Another wrote, "TAYLOR SWIFT STUNS IN NEW "1989" OUTFIT AT TONIGHT'S SHOW OF 'THE ERAS TOUR' IN AMSTERDAM! #AmsterdamTSTheErasTour."
