Amy Schumer recalls getting photographed on Met Gala steps before giving birth to her son
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amy Schumer reportedly did not attend this year’s Met Gala, but she remembered the time when she was photographed at the event just before giving birth to her son.
The 44-year-old actress — who attended the 2022 and 2023 Met Gala events — is the mother of a son named Gene David Fischer, who was born in 2019.

Giving her fans a bit of nostalgia, Schumer posted a photo of her pregnant self on her Instagram Stories of the time she posed on the stairs of the Met Gala. She captioned the image as “Met ball 7 years ago today. On my way to give birth, I stopped on the steps.”
The ‘I Feel Pretty’ star was seen wearing a tan cardigan and a gray shirt, along with a pair of black leggings in the photo.

Schumer welcomed Gene with her now-estranged husband, Chris Fischer, a chef. The pair got married in 2018 in a surprise ceremony in Malibu.
She filed for divorce earlier this year before announcing in December last year that she and Chris “have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years.”
“We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time,” she added at the time, before asserting, “Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”

Meanwhile, on May 3, the ‘Kinda Pregnant’ actress celebrated her child’s seventh birthday for the first time as a single mother.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “This women[sic] just threw her first bday party as a single mom.”
Amy Schumer called giving birth the 'most terrifying thing'
Earlier, Schumer had talked about motherhood and the challenges she faced as a working mother.
Regarding giving birth, she told PEOPLE, “It’s all terrifying. Giving birth is the most terrifying thing you’ll ever do that’s completely worth it. Having a c-section was … my pregnancy was so hard, I was just very ready to meet my son.”
Also, months after giving birth to her son, when Schumer had to return to work, she reportedly said, “I’m feeling strong and good and like I’m still a human being with interests and ambitions and goals I’m excited to reach. It felt good to be back at work.”
“A couple of days ago I cried from missing [Gene]. But it’s mostly good to be back, and the breaks energize me to be a better mom and appreciate our time even more,” Schumer added.
