Amy Schumer shares experience with weight-loss medication

Amy Schumer, who has previously been candid about her experience with taking Wegovy or Ozempic - the Semaglutide medication touted by many as the “miracle” drug, opened up about her experience with a new kind of a drug, per The Independent.

Previously appearing on ‘The Howard Stern Show’, the ‘Trainwreck’ star shared that though she had tried Wegovy three years earlier, it failed to give her any results. Instead, she was left bedridden as she carried a gene that causes nausea.

But she has received positive responses ever since she started another drug - Mounjaro (Tirzepatide). She revealed that Mounjaro has been dubbed as the “King Kong” of weight loss jabs.

The ‘Snatched’ actress revealed that along with the prescribed medication, she is also taking estrogen and progesterone to help with her perimenopause symptoms.

She revealed that all her prescriptions came through Midi Clinic, a specialty organization aimed at women in their middle ages.

“It’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have, but I’m having a really good experience with it, and I wanted to keep it real with you about that,” Schumer shared before adding that with the positive experience she received from the clinic she could not help but end up investing in the company.

While she talked about the clinic, she concluded with a little quip presumably aimed at Meghan Markle

She said, “That’s all I have to say, and I’m not gonna talk any s**t, I’m not gonna stir the pot....,” before concluding, “But why don’t we have to call Kate Middleton, Kate of Wales?”

Schumer’s quip was reminiscent of the Duchess of Sussex’s bold proclamation on her show, ‘With Love, Meghan’, where she rectified her friend and guest Mindy Kaling saying that she is a Sussex now.

After the ‘Never Have I Ever’ producer called the mother-of-two “Meghan Markle” repeatedly, the former ‘Suits’ actress playfully chided her, saying, “I’m surprised you keep saying, Meghan Markle, you know, I’m Sussex now.”

She continued, “You have kids, and you go, ‘now I share my name with my children’… I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go ‘this is our family name, our little family name’.”

Amy Schumer recalls side effects of Ozempic

Earlier this year, Amy Schumer opened up about the horror of taking Ozempic for weight loss while appearing on ‘The Howard Stern Show’.

She shared, “I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So what’s the point?” as reported by Prevention.

She revealed that she was so sick that she wasn’t even able to play with her young son. “I was like bedridden. I was like, vomiting—and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. So, God bless them,” Schumer continued.
