Ana de Armas finally breaks her silence on Tom Cruise amid romance rumors: 'I'm so excited'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ana de Armas has officially opened up about her collaboration with Tom Cruise following months of public sightings that have fueled relationship rumors.

During her appearance on 'Good Morning America' on 15 May, the 37-year-old actress confirmed working on multiple projects with the 62-year-old actor.

While promoting her upcoming action film 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina', Ana de Armas was asked about working with a major star known for stunts.

Host Michael Strahan directly mentioned Tom Cruise, prompting Ana to confirm the partnership.

"Another big star. He's a stunt master himself, Tom Cruise...On another project that's gonna lead you to do some other crazy stunts," Strahan asked.

"What do you think?" Ana asked as they both burst into laughter. Strahan continued, "Yeah, you didn't get enough with Ballerina. You're asking for more."

"You know, it's so much fun and yeah, we're definitely working on a lot of things," Ana replied. 

She continued, "Not just one but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. And I'm so excited."

Doug Liman previously directed Cruise in 'Edge of Tomorrow' (2014) and 'American Made' (2017).

Christopher McQuarrie is known for his long-standing work with Cruise in the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise and wrote the script for 'Edge of Tomorrow', according to People.

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas continue to spark dating rumors with multiple public sightings

Rumors surrounding their relationship began in February, when the two stars were seen out together in London.

Since then, they have been spotted walking together on Ana's birthday and arriving in London via helicopter on March 14, accompanied by Doug Liman.

Most recently, Ana and Cruise were seen in a car together while leaving David Beckham's 50th birthday celebration in London on May 3 by the Daily Mail. 

A source recently confirmed to Us Weekly that “it’s low-key, still new and in the early stages” regarding their relationship. “Their romance is definitely on the down low.”

The source said the two met through Hollywood circles over the years and that Penelope Cruz “raved” about the Cuban-born actress.

“Penelope put in a good word for her both personally and professionally,” said the insider.

Ana de Armas stays guarded about her private life

According to the insider, the pair originally connected in February over work discussions before “the relationship developed.”

The source shared that Cruise was “super smitten” and their meetings “developed into feelings.”

“They’ve gone out on some dates and it’s very low-key,” the source added. “It’s in the early stages and he’s been courting her.”

The insider continued, “He’s really into her,” noting the feeling is mutual, but Ana is being “more cautious.”

“She isn’t looking for anything to move too fast, she’s taking it really slow,” the source said.

The source also explained, “It’s very private,” and said they are “protecting themselves from the intense media scrutiny.”

Ana is hesitant because of her discomfort with public attention, which was also an issue in her previous relationship with Ben Affleck.

The source added that her private nature is “one of the things Tom likes about her.”
