LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who have been embroiled in legal battles since their notorious 2016 split, are once again in the spotlight due to their winery dispute, aiming to prove him wrong.

Jolie and Pitt are in a legal battle over the sale of their shares in Chateau Miraval, a French winery.

Pitt sued Jolie, claiming she violated a verbal agreement by selling her half for $67 million without his consent, while Jolie's side argues she refused his buyout offer due to an NDA requirement.

In a July 17 statement, Angelina Jolie's lawyer, Paul Murphy, accused Brad Pitt of trying to punish and control Jolie by demanding an expanded NDA covering his personal misconduct and abuse in his offer to buy her stake in the winery.

Murphy emphasized, "Those actions are central to these proceedings. We are not at all surprised Mr Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts."

Murphy stated, "While Angelina again asks Mr Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong."

According to People, Pitt's representative declined to comment. Pitt's lawyers, in a recent court filing, argued that the third-party communications Jolie's team is requesting involve "sensitive issues," including therapy Pitt undertook after a flight incident, and feature some of his "most trusted advisors."

They claimed Jolie was attempting to turn the business dispute into a re-litigation of their divorce case.

Jolie's legal dispute with Pitt has caused a stir online, with many internet users criticizing the couple for prolonging the issue, potentially impacting their children.

One user wrote, "So she could have let him buy her shares of the winery that they both owned and end it but she sold it to someone else so he couldn'thave it? If so sounds like she wanted to spark a fight."

A second user slammed, "Why don't they act like adults and talk out their problems and finish the divorce. They loved each other enough to build a family together. Do what's right for the kids. Own up to your mistakes and have an honest conversation with the kids to allow them to heal and move forward. Then agree to only speak well of each other in front of the kids so they can have a healthy and happy relationship with both parents."

A third user said, "They were both wrong the way they did things. Brad should have paid close attention to who he was involved with. Did he think marriage would change her."

A fourth user questioned, "Now she wants to stop the fighting?" The last user said, "She seems to want everything."

Judge rules Angelina Jolie must produce 8 years of NDAs

In May, a judge ruled that Jolie must produce eight years' worth of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) she has made. Pitt's team hopes that disclosing her history of NDAs will demonstrate that such agreements are standard business practice.

Murphy stated that they are "more than happy to" provide these "common NDAs" since they are "simply not comparable to Mr. Pitt’s last-second demand to try and cover up his personal misconduct."

He added that the ruling "opens the door to discovery on all issues related to Pitt’s abuse" and that they "welcome that transparency in all parties’ discovery responses."

However, a source close to Pitt said the ruling was a "significant blow to the credibility" of Jolie's claims and a "strong statement challenging them to match their rhetoric with actual facts, which they consistently have been not been able to do."
