LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie has disclosed that her 18-year-old daughter, Shiloh, has no interest in a Hollywood career and dislikes the celebrity lifestyle.

Speaking at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Wednesday, February 6, Jolie shared insights into her children’s views on fame.

Addressing her children's choice for privacy over fame, Jolie said, "They really don’t like any of the celebrity part of it, especially Shiloh—she hates it."

"It’s not a normal thing. It’s a silly thing, really," the 49-year-old actress added, according to Daily Mail.

Jolie and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, who finalized their divorce in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle, share six children, Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

Despite their Hollywood upbringing, Jolie explained that her children’s disinterest in fame was not something she encouraged but rather their own choice.

"That’s not my doing. I always wanted them to be around film because it’s such a wonderful family—to be creative, to be an artist… but they’re not interested," she shared.

“Some of them dance, some of them paint, some of them love theater, but none of them are dying to be on screen,” Jolie added.

A behind-the-scenes approach to the film industry

While none of the Jolie-Pitt children have expressed eagerness to be on screen, several have contributed behind the scenes on their mother’s projects.

Maddox and Pax both worked as assistant directors on Jolie’s latest film 'Maria' with Pax also involved in additional photography. Additionally, Jolie collaborated with her youngest daughter, Vivienne, on the Broadway production of 'The Outsiders.'

"It’s good to start them in working," Jolie said during the film festival panel.

"[You’ve] got to run around and do anything for everybody. And so they’ve been doing that in a few films," said Jolie, according to Page Six.

Speaking about Vivienne who took her work as an assistant on production, Jolie recalled, "She'll correct me. She'll say, 'Didn't you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.' She's been a really tough assistant.'"

Angelina Jolie’s consistent stance on her children’s privacy

This is not the first time Angelina Jolie has emphasized her children’s preference for privacy.

In October 2024, she described them as "especially shy, very private people" who deliberately stay out of the limelight.

She reiterated this stance during a November 2024 interview on 'Good Morning America' where she specifically mentioned Shiloh as being "extremely private."
