Brad Pitt reaches out to Angelina Jolie despite messy divorce over one thing that keeps them together
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt and ex-Angelina Jolie finalized their eight-year divorce settlement in December 2024, estranging Pitt from the majority of six children. However, the ‘Fight Club’ actor is still trying to be a part of his second eldest son Pax’s life and is ‘desperately worried’ for him.
Pax, 21, was involved in three motor collisions last year and the actor is scared that his wayward son is “gonna end up killing himself in a crash if he carries the way he is doing,” a source informed Radar Online.
Brad Pitt extends olive branch to ex Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt reportedly extended an olive branch to Angelina Jolie to exert a “steadying influence” in Pax’s life. The insider informed the outlet, “They finally reached a divorce settlement in December, putting an end to eight years of bitter proceedings, and now Brad wants to get himself back in the lives of their kids.”
Another source claimed that Pitt “believes if he had been granted shared custody, the situation would be entirely different,” as he “felt entirely cut off from” his son during his critical teenage years.
Notably, Pax was involved in an e-bike accident on January 24, making it his third in the past eight months. The A-lister’s son was allegedly riding down through Los Angeles streets with no hands as he turned a corner and crashed into the side of a car.
Interestingly, the incident took place just six months after he was hospitalized for sustaining injuries in an earlier crash, per the outlet.
A different insider earlier shared with Page Six, “His friends are concerned about him. He’s being reckless. They’re worried.”
Insider claims Brad Pitt wants to positively turn things around for his son before it’s too late
Radar Online’s insider said that during a time like this, it is “crucial” for Pax to “have his father present.” The source said, “Pax needed a strong male figure in his life, but Brad was not permitted to fulfill that role.”
The insider further mentioned that despite the “burden” of having missed many moments in his children’s lives, the ‘Babylon’ star is seeking to positively turn things around before it’s too late. However, the source added that the actor would need Angelina’s assistance to help close the divide.
Moreover, many Jolie-Pitt children have dropped their father’s last name publicly, even if not legally yet. According to People, the children wanted their mother to “speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years, but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories.”
As per the official documents, the ‘Maria’ star could have lost primary custody if she didn't try to improve her children’s relationship with their father. The custody trial “resulted in the judge granting 50-50 custody to Pitt,” according to Pitt’s source.
