Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce still unresolved after 8 years
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 after two years of marriage, but the legal battle over custody, finances, and their French winery, Chateau Miraval, remains unresolved.
A source close to Pitt called the situation “pretty shocking” and attributed their marital issues to differing parenting styles, according to People.
“They always had different approaches to life,” the source said, adding that Pitt’s Midwest upbringing clashed with Jolie’s Hollywood roots.
Jolie and Pitt reached a divorce settlement on December 31, 2024.
Following the settlement, Jolie's attorney James Simon stated, “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family."
"This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” he added.
The 'Maleficent' actress filed for divorce after she claimed Pitt was allegedly abusive to her and their children on a private jet flight from Europe.
