Angelina Jolie lauds daughter Vivienne, 15, for working 'very seriously' during production of 'The Outsiders'

NEW YORK, CITY, NEW YORK: Angelina Jolie, the star of 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider', recently spoke about her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt’s impressive abilities as a production assistant.

The mother-daughter duo worked together on the Broadway musical 'The Outsiders', and Jolie couldn’t help but express her admiration for her daughter’s dedication and talent.

At the New York City premiere of the show, Jolie was joined by the show’s composer Justin Levine.

She referred to the blue jumpsuit Vivienne wore to the event and proudly called her daughter a “wise little greaser,” a nod to the characters in the stage adaptation of SE Hinton’s famed 1967 book.

“Viv ended up more with Justin [Levine] than with me, so you can tell by choice of attire which team she’s on… She’s on the music, writer and greaser team,” Jolie shared with Extra.

Levine, who arranged the music and wrote the lyrics for the musical, also had high praise for Vivienne.

“Let me tell you something about Viv. Viv is one of the greatest humans I’ve ever met and somebody who is an observer and who sees people and sees the world in a way that, you know, I think, so much about this show is reconnecting with your inner child,” he said.

“To have the privilege of working alongside this brilliant 15-year-old and hear her perspective and also learn the lesson of, you know, speaking when you have something to say or learning how to give energy into a space … I just think she’s one of the wisest little greasers I’ve ever met,” he continued.

Vivienne: A ‘tough assistant’ on the production, says Angelina Jolie

In the same event, Jolie revealed to People how Vivienne runs a tight ship as an assistant in the production.

“She’ll correct me,” Jolie, 48, said of her daughter, adding, "She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.’"

Jolie, who is a lead producer on the show, added, “She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously.”
