Angelina Jolie makes son Pax sign contract promising he'll 'always wear his helmet' after e-bike crashes

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pax Jolie-Pitt’s need for speed has finally caught up with him, and his mother, Angelina Jolie, isn’t taking any more chances. 

Following a string of road accidents, including a terrifying e-bike crash that landed him in the ICU, the 'Maria' actress is now enforcing strict rules before allowing her 21-year-old son back on the road.

According to an insider, Pax Jolie-Pitt's daredevil streak may have roots in his childhood adventures with his father, Brad Pitt.

"It was obvious he loved the thrill of going fast," the source said, noting that Pax’s early days spent "out on dune buggies, racing around the sand in Santa Barbara" fed his appetite for adrenaline.

While Angelina now regrets allowing Pax to embrace that thrill-seeking behavior, she knows she can’t fully control his choices.

"But what can she do? He’s an adult, and she can’t stop him from riding his electric bike," the insider explained.

Still, Angelina is doing what she can to encourage safer habits.

As part of the consequences of his recent crash, Pax has agreed to take defensive driving lessons. He’s also signed a contract promising he’ll "always wear his helmet."

"It’s still going to give her anxiety every time he leaves the house on his bike," the source added. "All she can do is hope that Pax is realizing how lucky he is to be alive with his brain intact — and that he will act more responsibly on the road going forward."

"She’d love it if Pax would take these accidents as a warning and give up on this need for speed, but that’s very unlikely," a source told In Touch.

Pax Jolie-Pitt suffered 'complex trauma' in July 2024 e-bike crash

Pax Jolie-Pitt’s risky behavior first made headlines in May 2024 after he crashed his Tesla into a truck outside RED Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles. Fortunately, he was uninjured, and no police report was filed.

While he walked away unharmed, the incident wasn’t enough to curb his thrill-seeking tendencies, especially on his beloved e-bike.

Just two months later, in July 2024, Pax got into another accident. While riding his e-bike without a helmet, Pax collided with a stationary car at a red light on Los Feliz Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Lola Cavalli, one of the first people on the scene, recalled the chilling moment she found him bleeding on the pavement.

"And since I was directed to apply pressure at the site where it was bleeding, I did not see where I could apply the pressure, because it was on the head," she told Entertainment Tonight.

"He was hit on the head — I had no idea where you would put the pressure to stop the bleeding on the head," Cavalli added.

"We did everything we thought would be necessary to make sure that the ambulance arrived, and [to make sure] oncoming traffic from both directions keeps on moving, instead of piling up, which would make our ambulance's approach impossible completely," she further recalled. 

Pax was rushed to the ICU, where doctors determined he had suffered "complex trauma" that would require an extensive recovery period and physical therapy.

Even after this ordeal, his appetite for risk hadn’t disappeared.

In January, just weeks after being released from the ICU, Pax was involved in another e-bike accident in Los Feliz, California.

Riding hands-free, he lost control and crashed into the side of a car, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, he was uninjured.
