Creator Steven Knight broke the news during an interview with Birminghamworld at the premiere of his new BBC show 'This Town'.

Knight had been working on the script for the movie and had kept fans guessing about Murphy's involvement. But now, the confirmation is here, with Knight declaring, "He is definitely returning for it. We're shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth."

As per Birminghamworld, Knight also expressed his admiration for Murphy, especially after his recent Academy Award win for his role in 'Oppenheimer'.

He stated, "It was so deserved. I mean he's brilliant, and he's such a great human being and he leads the line when we're shooting and he's so level-headed and straightforward. He deserves everything he gets."

Set during the Second World War, the 'Peaky Blinders' movie will start filming in September at Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham.

Murphy has previously shown his eagerness to return to the role of Tommy Shelby, emphasizing "I have always said that if Knight delivers a script that I know he can deliver because he is such a phenomenal writer, I'll be there. If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, I will be there. Let's do it," as per the Daily Mail.
