WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has declared that he will not vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Scaramucci, who only remained in the position for ten days at the start of the Trump administration in 2017, was responding to  Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows's decision to remove the former President from the state primary ballot, citing his alleged role in the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

In a conversation with CNN's Kaitlan Collins on December 28, the former Trump aide said, "I'm not going to vote for him. I'm a patriot first and a partisan second. This is a constitutional issue. He is a systemic threat to the American democracy and the American experiment."

"You can't put somebody like that in office," he added.

The video clip of the conversation was first posted on his X account by online news network Meidas Touch's senior digital editor, Acyn, and later reposted by Collins.

Scaramucci has been a vocal critic of the leading Republican presidential candidate and has explicitly slammed the latter for his recent Hitler references like illegal immigrants "poisoning the blood" of the country.

Anthony Scaramucci promises to 'work tirelessly' to stop Trump's victory

Scaramucci outrightly stated the former President's "well-organized team" would "expand the executive powers and crypt the democracy" if his White House dream gets accomplished.

The former Trump aide added, "I will be working for whoever is running against him."

"We will work tirelessly to stop him [Trump] and we will explain to the American people what it means to lose their democracy because I don't think people are as focused on that as they need to be." Calling out Trump, who intended to be a "dictator" for a day, Scaramucci stated, "Totalitarianism doesn't work. Dictatorships may get the trains to run on time for a few years, but it's not a successful way to run America. It would really hurt the aspirational opportunity for the American citizens."

The ex-White House communications director concluded by saying he "will be out there advocating why he [Trump] can't be president again."

The former President's never-ending obstacles for a second term in the Oval Office with the Maine primary disqualification coincided with his reinstatement in the Colorado primary ballot days after the state SC disqualified his candidacy.  Trump will be a candidate for the March 2024 primary ballot as the Colorado Republican Party has appealed against the state SC's ruling, reported CBS News.

Internet reacts to Anthony Scaramucci's remarks

Social media users are mocking the ex-Trump aide's remarks of not voting for Trump and working to prevent his victory. Many on X questioned Scarmucci, asking why he was silent while being a part of the Trump administration.

One user considered Scaramucci remarks as, "Empty words. No detail. Just emotion."

Another user said, "A day late and a dollar short… he sold his soul and worked for the guy for a whole 8 days."

"That's cute. He thinks he will be working," a third user added.

While a fourth user wrote, "I believe this guy....NOT....."

One user asked, "Why didn’t he say this when he worked for him for those 8 days?"

"People are going to come up with so many jokes about this," remarked another.

Another user responded, "From the guy @Scaramucci who praised Trump when he was named Press Secretary for a day saying 'I love the guy!'"
