WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump candidly spoke about how his legal troubles have affected his sleep and eating habits.

During an appearance on 'Fox and Friends Weekend' on Sunday, June 2, the 77 year old politician admitted that he gets very little sleep due to his busy daytime schedule.

Donald Trump says he 'rarely eats breakfast'

When asked about his morning routine, Trump said, "I don’t sleep a lot. I don’t say that as a badge of courage. You know, a lot of people are ‘I don’t sleep, and oh,’ and they maybe do."

"I rarely eat breakfast. I don’t … it’s funny. I love food, but I don’t necessarily. I’m too anxious," he shared, according to OK Magazine.

Donald Trump says he 'enjoys life' amid stress

Amid his challenges, Trump claimed that despite the struggles he really "enjoys life."

"It’s crazy. I shouldn’t enjoy life. I get indicted, I get impeached, I get… somebody said, ‘How do you live?'" he joked.

Trump's revelations come amid a series of legal troubles and is the first former US president to be criminally charged after he was indicted for falsifying business documents in March 2023.

In June 2023, he faced another indictment for allegedly mishandling classified documents after federal agents found confidential files at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

In August 2023, he faced a second and third indictment in the Georgia election interference case.

Trump's charges in the case included conspiracy to obstruct, racketeering, conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy against rights related to American citizens' right to vote, making false statements and writings, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, and conspiracy to commit filing false documents.

Inside Donald Trump's hush money criminal trial

Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a crime.

On Thursday, May 30, a New York jury found the 77-year-old guilty on 34 counts of falsifying his business documents to conceal payment of $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential elections.

His sentencing hearing is set to take place on July 11.

Donald Trump mocked for claiming stress affects his routine

Reacting to Trump's claim that the stress amid legal troubles have been significantly affecting both his sleeping and eating habits, a netizen on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "Donald Trump chose to sleep through his trial."

One user wrote, "Donald Trump said he was 'too anxious' to eat breakfast in an interview segment that aired Monday on 'Fox & Friends.' Good, Trump is killing himself as I type," and another user commented, "Except he didn’t commit any crimes."

"Let’s talk about Donald Trump’s choices. Donald Trump chose to live in New York, Donald Trump chose to commit crimes in New York, Donald Trump chose the jury that judged him in New York, Donald Trump’s choices put Donald Trump where he is today," Rep Eric Swalwell tweeted.
