Anya Taylor-Joy left ‘shaken’ by burglary incident as ‘TOWIE’ star’s ex is identified as masked intruder

LONDON, ENGLAND: Hollywood star Anya Taylor-Joy and her musician husband Malcolm McRae reportedly had a narrow escape when masked robbers broke into the London house where they were staying.

According to The Standard, two suspected burglars even tried to enter the bedroom where Taylor-Joy, 28, and McRae, 30, were sleeping. The two were claimed to have been left "shaken up" but unharmed by the encounter.

One of the two suspects has been identified as Kirk Holdrick, who is currently held on remand. Holdrick was spotted on several occasions with 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Hannah Voyan in 2022, per Daily Mail.

According to information revealed on Monday, November 4, the 'Furiosa' actress and her rock star husband, Malcolm McRae, were forced to lock themselves in a closet after two masked robbers entered the London property where they were staying in February 2023.

Taylor-Joy and McRae, along with McRae's bandmate Kane Richotte, were at the home of another unidentified celebrity who was not present during the frightening incident, as reported by The Sun.

The outlet reported that the three were "shaken but unharmed" when the burglars attempted to enter both bedrooms by smashing a glass window but eventually fled without taking anything.

According to The Standard, the reports were only recently released to the public after they fought for nine months to have the case's reporting restrictions removed.

McRae and Taylor-Joy got married in September 2023 in front of over 150 guests in a magnificent ceremony in Venice. She reportedly eloped to New Orleans for a secret marriage before the wedding in Italy, per The Mirror.

Taylor-Joy talked to WWD.com about how their special day was a unique way to convey her love story. "I wanted our love story to be embroidered on the dress. I didn't want to wear white, I don't know why, but there's so much embroidery," she said.

McRae performs with Richotte in the two-man rock band more*. They also appeared together in the hit Prime Video series 'Daisy Jones and the Six'.

Kirk Holdrick pleads not guilty to burglary at Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae's London mansion

Kirk Holdrick, 42, of Borehamwood, Herts, has been accused of the 2023 burglary at Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae's London mansion. After entering a not guilty plea, he is being detained in custody until his trial in September of next year.

Wood Green Crown Court in North London removed its reporting restrictions, making it possible to record the February 12, 2023, burglary for the first time, per The Sun.

Holdrick had virtually made six appearances in connection with the case from jail. He previously made news in 2022 when he was spotted going on a series of dates with reality TV personality Hannah Voyan.

The defendant, who denied any participation in the event, was spotted holding hands with Voyan as they left a London restaurant in 2022. The couple reportedly dated for a year before splitting up.

Holdrick and the second burglary suspect, who is still being sought by police, were accused of smashing a pane of glass to gain entry into the mansion. The Met Police received a report about the break-in. The property underwent forensic examinations and CCTV footage analysis.

Following a judicial challenge by The Standard, Judge Kalyani Kaul KC permitted reporting limitations on the victims' names to be disclosed.
