LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande, known for her vocal talents and sometimes controversial statements, recently shared a surprising anecdote during a podcast appearance, as reported by PEOPLE.

On the 'Podcrushed' podcast, the 30-year-old singer disclosed a peculiar choice for a dream dinner date with infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Ariana Grande's controversial dinner date wish

Grande recounted the incident from her early career days when she was transitioning from her role as Cat in Nickelodeon’s 'Sam & Cat' to her pop star persona.

During a Q&A session with young fans and their parents, she was asked who she would choose to have dinner with, alive or deceased.

“It was in between me being Cat (in Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat) and pop stuff, so it was like a younger group, and they were with parents, and someone said. ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or or dead, who would it be?’” she recalled.

With parents present, Grande hesitated momentarily before revealing her fascination with serial killers, stating, “I was like, ‘Oh, you're so cute. Mom and Dad, is it OK if I give the real answer?’ And they were like ‘Sure, what’s the answer?’ and I was like, ‘I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating."

"I think I would have loved to have met him. Y’know, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions,'" she concluded.

"The parents were like, 'We’ll explain it later, sweetie.’ And I was like, ‘I’ll just sing ‘Problem’ and go home,'" Grande recalled, referring to her hit single.

Although Dahmer, who gained notoriety for his gruesome crimes, will never fulfill Grande's curiosity, she recently collaborated with Evan Peters, who portrayed Dahmer in 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.' They worked together on the music video for 'We Can't Be Friends,' a song inspired by the film 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.'

In the music video directed by Christian Breslaur, Grande plays a character named Peaches undergoing a memory-erasing procedure related to her ex-boyfriend, portrayed by Peters. The visual includes nostalgic moments of their past relationship, mirroring scenes from iconic films like 'Sixteen Candles.'

A third user mocked her statement with a twist: "She says, 'Jeffrey Dahmer's pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him, maybe with like a third party or something.' Well, there would be a 3rd party on their dinner plate if that counts!"

One comment bluntly criticized her, "Because you are crazier than he is."

Another user questioned her judgment, writing, "Even if she thinks this, why would she say it out loud?"
