Watching from home with friends, Frankie Grande could not contain his excitement as Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo performed 'Defying Gravity.'
Frankie, 42, shared a video on Instagram showing his reaction to the performance. In the video, he held back tears as Ariana and Erivo sang together.
"Well, that's the gay Super Bowl," Frankie wrote in the caption. "Best opening to an Oscar’s ever! Of all time! 👠🫧🌈🪹."
As the performance built to its climax, Frankie and his friends cheered loudly for Erivo as she hit the final high notes.
Ariana had stepped to the side, still singing, but allowing Cynthia Erivo to take the solo spotlight for the dramatic ending of 'Defying Gravity.'

Frankie Grande sobs after Ariana Grande's show-stopping moment
As the performance ended, all eyes in the room remained fixed on the screen.
Frankie turned the camera on himself, visibly emotional, and shouted, "Are you f*****g kidding me?!"
Ariana reacted to his video in the comments, writing, "I’m crying I love you all so much 🫲."

Ariana, 31, and Erivo, 38, qstarred in 'Wicked' as Glinda and Elphaba respectively. They will also appear in the film’s second part 'Wicked: For Good' set for release on November 21, 2025, as per People.
At the Oscars, 'Wicked' won two awards—Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandales and Nathan Crowley.
