LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Godfather’ producer Albert Stotland Ruddy has died at age 94 while suffering from a brief illness.

He passed away at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, on Saturday, May 25, as per his family.

Arnold Schwarzenegger lauds 'Hollywood legend' Albert Ruddy

Arnold Schwarzenegger remembered the Oscar-winning producer, “Al Ruddy was a Hollywood legend. He was an absolute icon and a visionary who made some of the best movies of all time,” he wrote on X.

“That’s the Al Ruddy everyone knows. I want to talk about the Al Ruddy I know. I met him more than 40 years ago, when he was already an icon and I was just starting my film career,” the ‘Terminator’ star continued. 

Schwarzenegger also mentioned the role Ruddy played in his acting career, “He became a dear friend and a mentor. He was always there to give me advice and lead me in the right direction. People like Al are why I refuse to be called a self-made man. Where would I be without him? My life wouldn’t be what it is without fantastic people like him who have been there every step of the way.”



 

Miles Teller pays tribute to 'iconic producer' Albert Ruddy

Miles Teller also paid his tribute to the iconic producer over X, "Albert S. Ruddy was the rare combination of a producers mind with an artist’s soul. An unrelenting equal parts champion of both the talent in front of the screen and behind it."

The 'Whiplash' star continued, "I learned so much portraying Al ” in 'The Offer' and Al was always gracious with his time and his treasure trove of old Hollywood stories. Al lived a life many could only dream of and all would envy. Show em the way up there Al."



 

Meanwhile, Clint Eastwood simply wrote, "Al Ruddy, RIP My Friend..." on X.

Ruddy also produced big hits, including ‘The Longest Yard', ‘The Cannonball Run', and ‘Million Dollar Baby', reported Variety.

Ruddy was honored with two French Cesar Awards, two Italian David di Donatello Awards, and the USC Scripter Award. He also bagged the lifetime achievement award from the Shanghai Film Festival and was chosen as president of the jury at the Zurich Film Festival in 2007.
