LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Aubrey Plaza's last Instagram post with her late husband, Jeff Baena, showed how proud she was of him. 

Uploaded back in May 2021, the post regained attention on the social media platform after Baena was found dead inside the couple's Los Feliz home on Friday, January 3, as per the Daily Mail.

In the old post, Aubrey Plaza shared a photo of her and Jeff Baena lovingly gazing into each other's eyes, along with screengrabs from a 2021 Deadline article on their then-upcoming film 'Spin Me Round'.

"So proud of my darling husband @jeffbaena for dreaming up another film that takes us to italia to cause some more trouble," she wrote in the caption.

"Excited to be reunited with the amazing @alisonbrie (who also co-wrote this one!) and @theofficialsuperstar @sordociego @lauren_weedman and so many more fun people in this. Preparati!!" the 'Parks and Recreation' added. 

Baena was a filmmaker who graduated from New York University with a degree in film and moved to Los Angeles to launch his career. He is best known for his directorial debut 'Life After Beth', starring Plaza, which premiered at Sundance in 2014.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair were first reported to be in a relationship in 2011. They got married in 2020 and made the news public in May 2021.

The 2022 film 'Spin Me Around' was the last film Baena directed. The dark comedy, which he co-wrote with actress Alison Brie, tells the story of a woman who wins an all-expenses-paid trip to a company institute outside of Florence.

Apart from his wife, the filmmaker is survived by his mother Barbra Stern, stepfather Roger Stern, his stepmother Michele Baena, his brother Brad Baena, and his step-siblings Bianca Gabay and Jed Fluxman.

One wrote, "He was a proud and beautiful man, he truly was kind," and another said, "My heart goes out to his family, friends, and his wife but especially his mother... Life can so easily change. enjoy the time you have with the people around you 'cause you never know if that’s the last time you’ll see them."

"My heart goes out to you, Aubrey. I am so sorry for your loss," expressed a person, while one more added, "I'm very sorry for your devastating loss, the profound pain, and the feelings of helplessness felt by your loved ones due to the impossibility of taking that pain away from you. I hope you find the strength and support you need to navigate the road ahead."

"May he rest in peace. Sending lots of love to you and to your family," another comment read.  

One showed their support to Plaza by writing, "Stay strong aubrey ❤️," with one more writing, "Oh aubrey… we are so worried about you and are sending prayers to you. i’m so deeply sorry to hear about jeff’s death. this is a horrible dark time and take all the time you need. everyone please be respectful towards aubrey and jeff’s family and give them space 💔."
