LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Bachelor’ Season 25 winner Rachael Kirkconnell has now spoken up about her split from Matt James as she revealed that she discovered his breakup post while on an airplane.

The internet personality’s disclosure came after many doubted the validity of the social media post shared by James on January 16, where he wrote, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔”

Fans of the two were not sure about the breakup as the ex-pair had continued to post content about their London trip just hours earlier, as reported by Just Jared.

But Rachael Kirkconnell has now shared on Tuesday, January 28, episode of the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, “I just couldn’t believe it, going to the airport. I was like, ‘What the hell is happening?’”

“We’re literally getting ready to take off, and my phone blows up. I’m freaking out. Just got broken up with and now, a few hours later, it’s like for the whole world to see,” she told host Alex Cooper.

During the interview, she also mentioned that just before their split, she and the 33-year-old TV personality were discussing their future and their engagement.

She said, “That's probably one of the saddest things about just picturing your life with someone and thinking that is how your life's gonna look, and now it's just all taken away,” as per Entertainment Weekly.

“We talked about rings. He told me a few months ago to start saving some things, picking things out that we should go look at. That's when I was like, 'Wow, okay. He really is on board with this',” Kirkconnell added.

The 28-year-old also stated that she’s still trying to wrap her head around the breakup and convincing herself “that there’s nothing wrong with me.”

“I'm still in total shock. I think that’s why I didn’t say anything. Still haven't made a statement or anything because I'm processing this just like everyone else is,” Kirkconnell asserted.
