SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA: Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s headlining performance at the Super Bowl LX halftime show at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, February 8, drew sharp criticism from segments of the American audience.

The rapper has remained in the spotlight following his history-making Grammy win for the song 'Debi Tirar Mas Fotos', which became the first fully Spanish-language album to take home Album of the Year at the awards.

Fans question NFL’s choice over Bad Bunny halftime performance

Bad Bunny’s performance featured surreal visuals, including scenes of him wandering through sugarcane fields in a padded shirt while carrying a football. The unconventional imagery drew backlash from some viewers, with one user writing, “Bad Bunny was an awful halftime show. Posting this before the game starts. It’s a guarantee. Wish it was a bet on Polymarket.”

Another critic didn’t hold back, declaring, “Bad bunny preforming at half time has to be the worst artist ever to perform.” A different user added, “That Bad Bunny half time show was absolutely terrible and the NFL should be ashamed.”

One commentator even claimed, “Today, Bad Bunny will make history as the lowest viewed #SuperBowl Halftime show performance.” Some social media critics were especially blunt, with one user writing, “Bad bunny sucked but you knew that already I peaked in during TPUSA show which was really good. Bad Bunny plays to a nation the left wants but most of the nation doesn’t. Shame on NFL for taking this great game into AOC territory.”

Trump slams Bad Bunny’s halftime show as 'absolutely terrible'

President Trump wrote on Truth Social, "The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence."

He continued, "Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the USA, and all over the World."

He further claimed, "This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day, including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show."

Trump also doubled down on his critique of media, "it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD, And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule."
