NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kim Kardashian made a somewhat unusual shoe choice at the Met Gala 2024 on May 6 by donning a pair of stilettos without a heel to prevent them from snagging on her dress while she walked.

The SKIMS founder not only stunned with her extremely tight corset and tiny waist, but it also seemed that she accessorized her biggest night in fashion with platform stilettos instead of real heels.

Kim, 43, revealed that she would wear high heels without any heels underneath her Maison Margiela dress by John Galliano when she invited Vogue to her fitting two days before the event.

One of the most shocking details about the 'Kardashians' star's sparkly silver Maison Margiela gown that caught everyone's attention during fashion's biggest night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was that she was wearing a pair of no-heel heels.

Kim showed off the statement platforms she intended to wear to the Met Gala in a video she recorded for Vogue two days prior, and explained the reason behind her "clever" decision.

In a video released on May 7, the 43-year-old addressed Vogue, "This is my shoe," holding out a shoe with no heel and just a very tall, transparent platform.

"It's clever because if I had a shoe with a heel, the heel gets stuck in the metal skirt. So that was our issue of walking," she said, per Daily Mail.

She then unveiled the customized clear platform heels that she would be "balancing" on throughout the occasion.

"So I'm going to have to put these on, and to wear these, you're on your tiptoes and you're balancing the whole time, flexing your calf muscles," Kim explained.

Kim would have the gait of a ballerina in training, walking on her "tippy toes." She added, "So, that's what I'm gonna have to do is stand on my tippy toes."

Kim remarked, "But I think ballerinas do it and they probably have a lot of practice," and that her "only practice" would be her pre-Met Gala fitting.

Kim, who is 5 feet 2 inches tall, was prepared to forgo comfort because she thought the Maison Margiela look required "height."

Kim said to the cameras as she tried on the shoes, "We gotta do what we gotta do. I can't lean back and I'm on my toes from here on out."

She dazzled guests on Monday night at the annual soiree by flaunting her incredibly trim waist in the silver Maison Margiela by John Galliano dress.

Kim Kardashian's silver corset look took over 1,000 hours to create

The entire ensemble, designed for Kim Kardashian, included a gray cardigan and a silver corset "made from an 18th-century antique brocade fabric rewoven in jacquard silver threads," said the designer.

The hand-wired "exfoliage" skirt, which was adorned with crystal pendants, pearls, and clasped jewelry, was the showpiece.

It was composed of "silver metal formations of lace, flowers, leaves, and sprigs interlinked with silver chain and floral motifs cut from mirror fragments." It took more than 1,000 hours to complete the artwork, per TODAY.

According to a release, the couture silhouette for this year's "The Garden of Time" theme was motivated by "the symbiotic love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and her jewelry."

Kim summed up the outfit as "imagining having the best night of your entire life with your most magical person and you just are in a garden" in the Vogue video.

Despite scoring on multiple 'Best Dressed' lists, the mother-of-four drew strong worry from online users - with one user assessing that would "be in the hospital by the end of the night," and another questioning, "How many ribs did she get removed?"
