Bam Margera claims he was defending himself after video shows him in fistfight with man who 'threatened to kill him'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bam Margera has shared a video of him trying to get police assistance after a stranger threatened to kill him. 

However, things quickly took a turn for the worse and he was forced to step in as the altercation escalated to a fistfight. 

Bam Margera claims he 'handled' the fight as cops 'never showed up' 

After the clip of Margera's fight with the unidentified man went viral online, he shared his side of the story on Instagram. The 44-year-old claimed on Monday, April 22, that he only fought in self-defense and the entire neighborhood encouraged him to confront the stranger.

“In regards to the bum fight, I called 911 8x times and waited nearly 3 hours and no cops ever showed the f**k up!” he captioned his post. Margera added, “...and the whole neighborhood told me to go handle it … and then they clapped when I was done because he finally shut the f**k up,” he signed off with his name.

In his Instagram clip, the former stuntman can be seen screaming into his phone, "it’s been over 2 hours and you guys have done nothing," reports TMZ. “I'm filming this and I'm gonna send it to the news. You guys don't do sh**,' Bam told the 911 operator.

“Get a police officer here. Los Angeles Police Department is f*****g worthless,” he lamented. “It's been two hours of us trying to sleep and this dude's throwing sh*t everywhere and nobody showed up," he said. 

Bam’s manager Mike Quinn shared, that a stranger “threatened to kill Bam and his entourage outside of the property where Bam was staying.” “This individual, who had been pacing nearby for hours relentlessly, and causing disturbances by yelling and overturning trash cans, escalated the confrontation by punching Margera when he stepped outside to smoke,” he added.

The internet shared mixed reactions to Bam's claim that he acted in self-defense.

One person said, "I hope he is still sober." "That was no self defense. Y'all need to do better reporting," joined another.

The third wrote, "This means he’s smoking crack again"

"Obviously getting mad and scuffling isnt great but he does actually seem quite clear and sober in the ig videos linked there so...progress? I guess?" a Reddit user said.

A user said, "He seems like he’s doing a little bit better but ultimately time will tell. His addiction/sobriety has ebbed and flowed a lot."
