LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Barbra Streisand does not believe in dressing "her age," as she believes that a person's choice of outfit "has nothing to do with age."

She also does not care about people’s perspective on her dressing sense, as she mentioned in an interview with The New York Times, when she stated, “People should express themselves and wear whatever they feel on any given day.”

As she dished out her take on fashion, she recalled how she once suggested that she pose for the cover of W Magazine in nothing but a white shirt, pointing out how, before that point, “I was too afraid to be seen that way at that time.”

She firmly declared, “Now I'm too old to care.”

Barbra Streisand wrote her autobiography to 'have some control' over her life

Barbra Streisand's interview came just a little over a month after the EGOT-winning star's autobiography, ‘My Name Is Barbra’, was released.

She explained her mindset behind writing the book, “It was the only way to have some control over my life. This is my legacy. I wrote my story. I don't have to do any more interviews after this,” per BBC.

The ‘Funny Girl’ actress also spoke with People and said, “I guess when you get famous, there's a certain section of people that want to believe bad things about you.”

“This woman [who reviewed the book] talked about, 'Well, I thought I was going to read a book written by a diva… She's not anything like that. She's a down-to-earth person. She's vulnerable.’”

Streisand asserted, “It's like she saw me through the book, so I accomplished what I set out to do: set the record straight by telling the truth.”

The 81-year-old director will soon be a recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award at the 30th SAG Awards, per an announcement made on December 15. She'll be the 59th recipient of this tribute in February 2024.

She issued a statement saying, “Ever since I was a young girl sitting in the Loew's Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, I dreamed of being one of those actresses I saw on the screen.”

“Even though I was an unlikely candidate, somehow my dream came true. This award is especially meaningful to me because it comes from my fellow actors, whom I so admire,” Streisand added.
