Barron Trump's college pick in New York remains a mystery as major university systems show no record
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Barron Trump, the youngest son of former president Donald Trump, did not show up at any prominent New York college freshman orientation amid the mystery about where the teenager would do his higher education, according to OK Magazine.
The GOP presidential nominee recently revealed that his teenage son was "all set in a certain school that's very good," somewhere in the Empire State. He confided that the family would announce it "soon."
Universities in New York began their first-year orientation programs, but the 6-foot-7 Barron was not spotted anywhere, nor was his Secret Service detail.
The teenager "does not appear in the student directories of Cornell, Columbia and New York University," according to reports where "registered first-year students at Cornell are typically listed."
Barron Trump's 'top choice' was reportedly New York University
In April, around a month before Barron's high school graduation, his "top choice" was reportedly the prestigious New York University located in lower Manhattan. NYU was the top speculated choice as he often resided with his mother, Melania Trump, in the Trump Tower, which is only 3.5 miles from the campus.
The teenager received his high school diploma from the elite Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May, which his parents attended. The ex-president took part in the graduation ceremony by skipping the hush money trial in New York.
If the reports turn out true, Barron would be the first from the trump family to join an NYU college. His 78-year-old father was a student at Fordham University in the Bronx. His half-siblings, Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka Trump, and Tiffany Trump, attended the University of Pennsylvania, and Eric Trump attended Georgetown University.
Former classmates deem Barron Trump's life 'mysterious'
Like his college choice, Barron's life was also "mysterious," according to his former classmates, who also noted the teenager could be "funny and sociable."
"He would start the most random conversations and could be very entertaining," said one of his friends to the media.
They also confided that the real estate mogul's son "never attended football games or dances" and might not have "met up with" friends or "went on dates" during his high school years. He was also not spotted at out-of-school parties, school lunches, or in the yearbook.
Barron's last public appearance was on July 9, when he joined his father's rally in Florida. However, he did not take part in last month's Republican National Convention.
In a 'Fox and Friends Weekend' interview in June, the MAGA spearhead bragged about his youngest son calling him "amazing."
"He's a tall, good-looking guy. He's a very good student, and he's applied to colleges and gets into everywhere he goes. He's very sought-after from the standpoint he's a very smart guy. He's a very tall guy and he's a great kid. He's cool. He's pretty cool, I'll tell you," the former president said at the time.
