Ben Affleck buys new $20.5M Pacific Palisades mansion fueling marital woe rumors with Jennifer Lopez
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck has a new permanent address in Pacific Palisades!
A day after ‘Million Dollar Listing’ star Josh Flagg hinted that Ben Affleck was nearing the close of a property deal in Los Angeles, it has been confirmed that Affleck has finalized the purchase of a new $20.5 million estate in Pacific Palisades.
According to TMZ, the ‘Good Will Hunting’ star closed escrow on the luxury estate in the upscale neighborhood recently.
Per Daily Mail, the house features five bedrooms and six bathrooms, including breakfast and dining areas. Additionally, it offers a separate family room, den, walk-in closets, media room, powder room, guest house, and other amenities.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez try to off-load their $60M mansion
The 51-year-old Academy Award winner's recent purchase follows the news that he and his wife of two years, Jennifer Lopez, are attempting to sell their $60 million dream house.
The couple, who rekindled their romance during the pandemic after a failed relationship in the early 2000s, purchased their marital home in May 2023 following months of house hunting.
However, less than a year later, the house is back on the market amid growing speculation of marital troubles between Affleck and the 'Jenny From The Block' songstress.
For the past few months, Affleck has been paying $100,000 per month for a rented property in Brentwood, close to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner's residence.
Affleck and Lopez, who recently spent their second wedding anniversary apart, have listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68.8 million after purchasing it for $60 million last year.
Though the couple initially tried to off load it secretly, it did not bear fruit that led listing their property publicly.
Rumors of Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez’s marriage troubles started in May
Rumors of marital woes began just two months before their second anniversary. Affleck and Lopez, who wed in July 2022, stopped appearing together in public for weeks.
In May, a source close to the couple told In Touch, “Ben already moved out and they'll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for.”
They continued, “They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her. There's no way it could have lasted.”
Another source told the Daily Mail, “If it is only a question of putting the work in then you had better believe that [Jen] will turn it around.”
“She has thrown her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and will not give it up without a fight,” the source continued before adding, “From what I hear there is still a lot of love there, so there must be hope.”
