Ben Affleck ‘feeling confident’ and ‘raring’ to start dating after Jennifer Lopez divorce, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following Jennifer Lopez's unusual divorce filing from estranged husband Ben Affleck, the 'Air' actor has been gaining a lot of attention and is getting closer to becoming Hollywood's most eligible bachelor again.
The 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' hitmaker, 55, officially filed for divorce from the 52-year-old Academy Award winner on Tuesday, August 20, after two years of marriage.
Ben Affleck reportedly ready to 'date' amid Jennifer Lopez divorce
Jennifer Lopez filed the divorce application on the same day that the former couple celebrated their extravagant wedding at Ben Affleck's mansion in Georgia two years earlier.
The 'Jenny From the Block' hitmaker filed pro per, or without an attorney, and stated April 26 as their date of separation, per OK! Magazine.
Despite Lopez having ended their marriage, the 'Good Will Hunting' star is not "going to pull the trigger until he’s divorced, but there are plenty of women interested in him," an insider claimed of Affleck's social life.
The insider added, "Even before they separated, Ben complained about the state of their intimacy so there’s no doubt he’s raring to get back out there and date."
Moreover, it appears like Affleck is prepared to return to the dating scene. The actor was recently seen out and about in Los Angeles, where he was seen sporting a new haircut.
His new hairstyle, which included a short tuft of hair on top and was shaved on the sides, was paired with his edgy outfit of black leather jacket, thin trousers, and aviator sunglasses.
The insider said of Affleck's latest appearance, "He’s feeling really confident and excited about his new look and raring to get out there and live life again and prove he’s still got it."
Earlier, Affleck abandoned his wedding band and skipped Jennifer Lopez's birthday celebration in the Hamptons. Rather, he closed escrow on July 24 on a $20 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades, California.
The 'Marry Me' actress is flushed from the entire experience. "Jennifer Lopez is well aware that Ben's name is being talked about as a new eligible bachelor on the Hollywood scene, and she's steaming mad," the source claimed.
The source revealed to InTouch Weekly, "There’s a big part of her that feels if she can’t have him, then no one should, and you better believe she’ll do what she can to sabotage him."
"Even if all she can do is warn everyone that he should come with a written health warning because of the way he messed with her head."
Jennifer Aniston has 'mini crush' on Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston became friends while co-starring in the 2009 romance comedy 'He's Just Not That Into You.'
Now, insiders revealed to InTouch Weekly that Aniston is hoping the couple will get to hang out after Affleck and Lopez's split announcement.
"Jen has definitely had a mini crush on Ben for years, but he's always been in these very serious, long-term relationships during that time. But change is in the air," a source close to the 'Friends' star revealed.
The insider revealed: "There's a very friendly and flirty open line of communication between them, plus a boatload of mutual friends — everybody from Jon Hamm to Sandra Bullock, who can totally see Ben and Jen becoming a couple down the road."
The insider claimed that Aniston views the marital issues between Lopez and Affleck as an "opportunity." They said, "As things pretty openly wind down between J Lo and Ben, there’s a real opportunity for Jen [Aniston] to make up for lost time with Ben."
"They’ve never really been single at the same time before, and Jen has been a true-blue fan of Ben’s for decades."
Aniston is "hoping they’ll get to hang out in the wake of his imminent divorce from Jennifer Lopez," according to the source. However, neither Aniston nor Affleck have verified the source's remarks.
