Midler captioned the video, “A family in the Eaton Fire #eaton #losangeles,” and expressed her sympathy for all those affected. The Halpin family’s property, which they had called home for 37 years, was among those destroyed in the Eaton Fire.

Karolyn Dudro, a member of the singing family, reposted the video with a message of gratitude, writing, "So glad we can offer some small comfort to those who have lost so much! Thank you @bettemidler.”

The clip of the family singing has gone viral, being widely shared since Instagram user Nicole Tittmann originally uploaded it.

Andrew Halpin, whose family owned the property, commented that one of the few items to survive the fire was a statue of the Virgin Mary. A GoFundMe campaign set up by Pete Halpin to assist his parents has already raised over $94,000.

LA wildfires cause widespread destruction

The Los Angeles wildfires, which began on January 7 in Pacific Palisades, have wreaked havoc across the region.

At least 16 people have tragically lost their lives as wildfires continue to rage across Los Angeles County, with no immediate relief in sight. The fires, which have burned through the week, are expected to persist into the weekend due to strong winds and challenging weather conditions, reported CBS News.

The Eaton Fire, which erupted later that evening, destroyed numerous homes in Pasadena and Altadena. Celebrities, including Leighton Meester, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Spencer Pratt, have also shared their experiences of evacuation and loss.

The most destructive fires include the Eaton Fire, located northeast near Pasadena, and the Palisades Fire, which is impacting the coastal area of Pacific Palisades.

These fires have led to mandatory evacuations for over 100,000 people, with emergency services battling the flames since Tuesday when the wildfires were fueled by a powerful windstorm. This storm has been described by meteorologists as the worst the region has seen in over a decade.

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, both the Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire now rank among the five most destructive wildfires in the state's history since records began in 1932. The extent of the devastation is still unfolding as more evacuations and firefighting efforts continue.
