Blue Ivy's desire to perform

Despite Beyonce's initial hesitation, her eldest daughter showed a keen interest in performing onstage.

The 'Dance For You' singer shared that Ivy's participation was entirely self-driven, saying, “Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion."

"She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage," she continued.

"Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes," Beyonce said in her conversation with GQ.

When she joined her Texas-born superstar mother onstage in Paris and other cities, Ivy's talent was on full display, captivating audiences with her dance routines.

Beyonce's idea of balancing fame and family privacy

Beyonce shared that she has always been adamant about protecting her family's privacy and emphasized that she has worked extremely hard to keep her personal life out of the public eye despite being part of one of the wealthiest families in the music industry.

“It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art," the 'XO' singer said, adding that she did not want her family to become a brand, like some other celebrities and their children.

"I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace," she noted.

Although her music career has always been her priority, the business mogul is equally dedicated to her role as a mother.

She revealed that her young children accompany her everywhere, from the office to the studio, and even to her dance rehearsals.

“They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me. They are in dance rehearsals," said Beyonce.

"I always dreamt of a life where I could see the world with my family and expose them to different languages, architecture and lifestyles," she added.
