Beyonce's whopping fee for Netflix’s NFL Christmas Day halftime show performance revealed
HOUSTON, TEXAS: Beyonce made her highly anticipated Christmas Gameday debut this year on Wednesday, December 25, with a spectacular halftime show performance.
During halftime of the game between Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, the 43-year-old pop diva took to the stage to deliver the first-ever live performance of tracks from 'Cowboy Carter', her latest album.
While it is expected that the 32-time Grammy winner will charge a hefty fee for her appearance at the game, the Independent finally reported the amount she was paid by streaming giant Netflix, which aired the game on its platform.
How much did Beyonce charge for her 2024 NFL Christmas Gameday performance?
According to the publication, Beyonce's halftime performance at the Christmas Day game was part of a $60 million three-project deal that the singer entered with Netflix in 2019. It was reportedly produced by the singer's Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
The first project under the said deal with the streaming giant was the 2019 concert film documentary titled 'Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce', Variety reported at the time. Featuring her headlining slot at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the project reportedly cost around $20 million. Beyonce was also credited as executive producer, writer, and director for the installment.
Based on the report, Dan Ruchie, founder of Trapital, a company that gives insights on music and sports, told Andscape, "If we believe this to be true, then that’s $20 million specifically for this (halftime) performance."
Beyonce and Netflix have yet to comment on the claim.
