WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden raised eyebrows with a rather bizarre comment about Republicans who support the former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump.

At a campaign event for Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, the 81-year-old president appeared to get a little feisty. He looked out at the crowd — clenching his teeth — and declared that Trump supporters were "the kind of guys you’d like to smack in the a*s."This came just days after he called them “garbage.”

Joe Biden lays into Donald Trump supporters

Joe Biden was talking to the local carpenters union in Pennsylvania about the supposed dangers of Trump’s policies. “There’s one more thing Trump and his Republican friends want to do,” he told the crowd. “They want to have a giant tax cut for the wealthy.”

But at some point, he started to go off the deep end. "Now, I know some of you guys are tempted to think it’s macho guys," Biden said. "I tell you what, man, when I was in Scranton, we used to have a little trouble going down the plot once in a while," he continued.

"These are the kind of guys you’d like to smack in the a*s, by the way, I’m serious," Biden added, leaving the audience a bit confused and probably a little surprised.

Social media has a field day after Joe Biden's 'smack' remarks

Within hours, social media blew up with reactions to Joe Biden’s “smack in the a**” comment. People on X wasted no time roasting the commander-in-chief.

"Joe Biden is out there biting babies and spanking Republicans," one posted on X.

"Sounds more like what White Guys for Harris do," another quipped.

"The dude’s a comedian I swear to god he missed his calling being the old fart on a sitcom. But… I guess the presidency IS a sitcom these days," a third user chimed in.

"Keep this man talking, put him on a 24-hour live stream please!!" someone else offered.

"I’m convinced that He’s sabotaging this on purpose. He never got over Obama pushing him out and making Clooney write that letter. Also pushed him out the day before the 7/22 first assassination hearing. Coincidence??" read a comment.

"This leaves no doubt at all that he is trying to sabotage Kamalaladingdong's campaign on purpose. ....and I don't blame him," another added.

Joe Biden’s past gaffes and Donald Trump's response

As mentioned, this comes just days after Biden called Trump supporters “garbage,” while making what was supposed to be a big campaign moment for Harris all about him.

That comment was pretty blunt too. He didn’t just throw out the “garbage” line out of nowhere—he was responding to a comedian’s joke about Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, where the comedian compared Puerto Rico to “a floating island of garbage.” Biden responded by saying, "The only garbage I see floating out there is his (Trump’s) supporters."

Not missing a beat, the Trump campaign took Biden’s insult and ran with it. The very next day Trump rolled up to a Wisconsin event on a MAGA-branded garbage truck, donning an orange vest like he was ready for trash duty himself.

“How do you like my garbage truck?” he asked his supporters as they laughed. “This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden," he quipped.

The “garbage” and “smack in the a*s” comments are just the latest of Biden’s slip-ups in the verbal department. Just last month in New Hampshire, Biden got everyone talking when he seemed to imply that Trump should be thrown in jail.

"If I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up: We gotta lock him up," Biden said. He tried to walk it back a bit seconds later, adding, "Politically, lock him up — lock him out, that’s what we’ve got to do.”

Meanwhile, the White House seems to be in damage control mode. The New York Post reported that Biden’s team has been quietly scaling back his public appearances and campaign calls. Rumors are swirling that Harris’ team might be trying to distance her from Biden to avoid catching shrapnel from his relentless gaffes.
