Halfway through the evening’s program, Melania Trump welcomed the audience to her and Donald’s "hometown," dazzling them in a long, zebra-printed dress by Michael Kors.

American designer Michael Kors, who hails from New York—the city where Melania resides—added an element of surprise to her fashion statement as she addressed the audience. Melania congratulated the city on its many accomplishments before inviting the former president to the stage.

In reference to Trump Tower, proud New Yorker Melania told the gathering, "Our hometown, where architectural symbols of strength, courage and unity, create a canvas for the world’s undisputed capital of industry."

"Where titans of finance, fashion, and entertainment convene among an iconic range of superior design, structures and artistic accomplishments," Melania added.

While zebras do not change their stripes, Melania seemed to be sticking to hers as well, so perhaps the zebra print captured her bold statement the best.

At her husband’s rally at Madison Square Garden, just over a week before Election Day, she spoke about New York, where she began her career after immigrating to the US from Slovenia.

As the audience roared and cheered, Melania talked about how New York is "unforgiving" and how the city's "quality of life" has declined in recent years.

She replied to the 20,000 spectators in the arena with an enthusiastic, "I love you too!" She went on to declare, "New York City and America need their magic back," asserting that her husband would be the "next commander-in-chief" to restore greatness.
