LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Bill Maher, a long-time vocal critic of Donald Trump, shockingly admitted on the Friday, January 24, episode of 'Real Time' that the 47th President of the United States can currently be considered "cool."

He further took the opportunity to blame the Democrats for Trump's massive popularity, claiming that their hyper-focus on the controversial businessman made him more acceptable to the public.

During a panel discussion on his HBO show with Stephen A Smith and Representative Ro Khanna (D-California), Bill Maher stated, "Here’s how bad the Democrats f**ked up: Trump is cool now. He’s not just the most powerful guy in the world and just made himself like the richest, he’s actually kind of (cool) at 78!”

The 69-year-old noted that Trump succeeded in drawing considerable support among rappers and athletes. Even his dance steps, previously subjected to ridicule, have turned into a trend.

"I was making fun of him ... and now he owns it. And now they’re doing it!” Maher said. “I mean, the Village People are gay for Trump now!”

Village People performed at Trump's inauguration event after their song 'YMCA' became a staple at multiple Trump rallies during his last election campaign, reported Mediaite.

While Khanna attempted to argue that Trump had long been a celebrity for hosting the reality television show 'The Apprentice', Maher shot her down saying, "He was a joke!”

“Do we have to have the celebrity president?” Khanna asked. “I mean, is it all about coolness? How about being cool as president is actually about helping people?”

"That horse has left the barn," Maher responded.

MAGA argues Donald Trump has always 'been cool'

Reacting to Bill Maher's statement on X, Donald Trump's supporters cheered for the President while accusing the comedian of being "jealous".

"Trump has been cool since the 80s," wrote a user.



 

"They can’t handle it. Bill Maher is so jealous," shared another.



 

"Trump's daily wins must be driving Maher crazy. It is glorious!" exclaimed a third.



 

"Trump is cooler and funnier than Bill Maher," stated a fourth.



 

"Poor Maher, he doesn’t realize that he himself is actually the joke, and not in a good way," noted a fifth.
