Bill Maher blames far-left for driving ‘liberal heroes’ Joe Rogan, Elon Musk toward conservatives
💥NEW: Bill Maher: “They’ve driven a lot of people like Joe Rogan & @elonmusk — people who are not conservative, liberal heroes for a long time — into the conservative side because they were so unacceptably not super woke — just because they wouldn’t go along with the bullsh*t!” pic.twitter.com/FuXSmFTQdv

WASHINGTON, DC: After slamming people who rejoiced at the thought of the president being killed following the WHCD shooting, comedian and TV personality Bill Maher blamed leftists for pushing non-conservative influencers toward the right wing.
He said far-left activists had driven relatively liberal figures such as Joe Rogan and Elon Musk to the conservative side. Maher argued that progressive Democrats have effectively handed some of their “liberal heroes” over to conservatives.
Bill Maher blames left for liberal shift
During May 4 episode of his 'Club Random' podcast, Maher argued that the left is unintentionally strengthening the modern right wing by isolating liberal allies to the point where they feel forced to “switch sides” to conservatives.
Maher shared his views on prominent liberal figures aligning with Donald Trump during a conversation with Debra Soh, author of 'The End of Gender.'
Discussing how a “straight-arrow” academic like Soh became a pariah among progressives, Maher criticized modern Democratic identity politics.
"I've said this before, they've driven a lot of people like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk... people who are not conservative people, who were actually liberal heroes for a long time, they've driven them into the conservative side," Maher said. "Because they were so unacceptably not 'super woke' just because they wouldn't go along with the bulls*it."
Left pushed liberal icons toward conservatives: Bill Maher
He argued that the party’s “woke” faction has helped push some prominent “liberal heroes” closer to the conservative movement.
Maher also said that when legacy media refuse to platform certain experts, those individuals are pushed toward conservative outlets.
"But you know what? You're not going to stop me from calling you out when you're crazy," Maher declared. "Because there is a lot of crazy. Ask Donald Trump. It got him elected."
However, Maher maintained that he does not identify as a “right-winger.”
Debra Soh faces backlash over gender views
Soh has become a polarizing figure in liberal circles for her critiques of gender ideology and her warnings about medical transitions for minors.
"The science denial is so bad in terms of even like pure biology, you would think would be acceptable and should not be controversial," Soh told Maher. "I don't know that we're ever going to get back from that."
Expressing disbelief that someone as credentialed as Soh could be treated as a pariah, Maher said, "For them, you're just some sort of right-winger.”
Soh added that parts of the progressive left attempt to discredit experts with traditional views by labeling them “crazy” while ignoring their research.
