LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian and HBO’s 'Real Time' host Bill Maher has once again taken aim at what he calls the irrational extremes of online “woke” culture this time, defending Sydney Sweeney from a social media storm ignited by a jeans advertisement.

The 'Euphoria' actress recently appeared in an American Eagle campaign titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”

The cheeky play of words quickly triggered backlash from online critics accusing the ad and Sweeney by extension of promoting racist undertones.

Bill Maher defends Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad as he highlights absurdity of 'woke' outrage

Bill Maher wasn’t having it.

“I don’t think they did it on purpose, but I also think it's pretty funny that all the online social justice girls are like, ‘It's racist. There's no such thing as good genes, right?’ And then you go on Tinder and swipe left on every bald guy,” the 'Real Time' host said, diving into the absurdity of the controversy and sarcastically dissecting the outrage that labeled Sweeney a “Nazi” and a “white supremacist.”

“She talks about the fact that she has blue eyes, and then she says, ‘I have great jeans,’ you know, cause she's wearing jeans,” Maher explained. “But according to the woke people, this means that she's a white supremacist.”

He escalated his mockery with provocative satire, joking that critics would next claim her bra size was “36 KKK” and that she named her breasts after the Proud Boys.

Vice President JD Vance mocks democrats over Sydney Sweeney ad backlash

Vice President JD Vance took aim at Democrats during an appearance on the 'Ruthless' podcast, mocking their reaction to the backlash over the advertisement featuring Sweeney.

“My political advice to the Democrats is: continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive that they’re a Nazi,” Vance quipped. “That appears to be their actual strategy.”

Vance, however, saw the backlash as further proof of what he called a “disconnect” between Democrats and mainstream American values.

“It actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems, though, which is that you have like a normal, all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad, right? To try to sell, you know, sell jeans to kids in America, and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it's like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?” Vance said.

“I actually thought that one of the lessons they might take is we're going to be less crazy,” the vice president added. “The lesson they have apparently taken is we're going to attack people as Nazis for thinking Sydney Sweeney is beautiful. Great strategy, guys. That's how you're going to win the midterms. Especially young American men.”
