Bill Maher slams Trump’s first 100 days as 'objectively bad' weeks after friendly White House dinner

WASHINGTON, DC: Just days after a friendly White House dinner with President Donald Trump, comedian and political commentator Bill Maher has sharply criticized the president’s first 100 days in office, calling them “objectively bad.”
The shift in tone comes after Maher, who dined with Trump alongside UFC’s Dana White and musician Kid Rock, briefly appeared to soften his stance.
But any goodwill seems to have evaporated, as Maher made it clear he’s far from satisfied with the current direction of the political landscape.

Bill Maher gives his insights on President Trump's first 100 days
In a fiery commentary shared with the Free Press, Bill Maher didn’t hold back in his assessment of President Trump’s first 100 days in office.

Under the blunt subheading "Bill Maher on Bad Things," the comedian and commentator opened with a scathing summary, calling it a “s**t show,” and noting, “I said after he won the election, I’m not going to pre-hate anything.”
However, Maher made clear that any initial restraint had faded. “After 100 days, there are probably 100 things to legitimately hate,” he wrote, listing concerns such as “disappearing people,” the inefficiency of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), disregarding the Supreme Court, and severe foreign aid cuts that “kill people overseas.”
He continued, "Firing the guy in charge of his election-integrity office because he won’t say 2020 was rigged, tariff-related market collapse, America no longer being seen as a safe place, the third-term talk, suing the media, Andrew Tate. . . I mean, I could just keep going."
Maher emphasized, "And I want to emphasize: None of my disapproval for any of this comes from reflexive Republican opposition. On all these issues, it’s just objectively bad. And they know that, too."

And this wasn’t a throwaway line. Maher meant it.
“Trump is one of the most effective politicians,” Maher told Chris Cuomo.

Bill Maher’s recent wave of criticism comes on the heels of him praising the president in remarkably glowing terms, as per OK Magazine.
Speaking just weeks ago on Chris Cuomo’s 'Club Random' podcast, Maher referred to Trump as “one of the most effective politicians,” noting, “You know, he has those moments that no other politician has. And the Democrats have to find that guy. But let’s be real — they’ve been searching for years, and they’re still coming up empty.”
Maher didn’t stop there. He even suggested he should be hailed as “a hero” for sitting down with the polarizing president, highlighting what he saw as a failure of leadership on the Democratic side.
On another podcast, '2 Angry Men', Maher scolded his own party for avoiding direct engagement with Trump. “You have to try!” he insisted. “As opposed to what? Not engaging? The Democrats, you lost everything; you have no power; you have nothing. And we’re slowly becoming much more of a monarchy, but you don’t want to talk to the king?”
