Kid Rock blasts mainstream media for downplaying Trump-Bill Maher White House dinner: ‘You’re puppets’

WASHINGTON, DC: Renowned singer Kid Rock is taking aim at the mainstream media, accusing them of deliberately ignoring a high-profile White House dinner he organized between President Donald Trump and comedian Bill Maher.
Also attended by UFC CEO Dana White, the dinner aimed to show that civility and conversation are still possible across political divides.
According to Rock, the evening went far better than expected, with Maher even complimenting Trump’s demeanor in private. But instead of celebrating the unlikely meeting, Rock blasted major news outlets for failing to cover the story fairly.

Kid Rock slams mainstream media for ignoring White House dinner
In a fiery video posted, Kid Rock blasted the mainstream media for ignoring or misrepresenting the recent White House dinner he organized with Donald Trump, Bill Maher, and UFC CEO Dana White.

“There’s something that’s been weighing on my mind, concerning this dinner with Bill Maher, President Trump, Dana White and myself… but it’s really no shocker…” Kid Rock began.
“What the f**k? I stuck my neck out to make this dinner – I stuck my neck out to make this dinner happen. There was a chance it could go really bad, and that I might lose the president’s trust over lining this thing up," he railed.

Despite what he described as a successful and meaningful evening, Rock expressed outrage over what he called a media blackout as per WhiskeyRiff.
He said, “I’ve seen zero on NBC, ABC, CBS, I don’t think I’ve seen anything on CNN. I saw something that the Washington Post is trying to change the narrative of course that it was a bad thing or that Bill Maher got played or something.”

Rock didn’t hold back in his criticism, slamming major networks and their anchors. He said, "I mean what the f**k? This is something, no matter what your politics are, that should be a positive thing for our country. There’s no doubt that this is something positive for our country, and none of these motherf**kers could say anything about it? That tells you everything you need to know about these people.”
"Until there’s some changes at these places at the highest levels, people who run these news organizations… And f**k you anchors too, who report the news, because you’re nothing but f**king puppets…" he continued. “You know this is a positive thing that helps our country out, but I guess it paints President Trump in some sort of good light so you’re like, ‘No, we’re not going to report on it..”
He concluded by accusing the media of intentionally ignoring anything that casts Trump in a good light, even if it promotes unity. “Just in my book, you motherf**kers are public enemy #1," Rock hit out.
Bill Maher reveals Donald Trump was 'gracious' at White House dinner
Bill Maher, who has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump, described his highly-anticipated visit to the White House on March 31.
Twelve days ago, I had dinner with President Trump, a dinner that my friend @KidRock set up because we share the belief that there has to be something better than hurling insults from 3000 miles away. pic.twitter.com/KE2t2eyBkI

On the April 11, Friday, episode of 'Real Time With Bill Maher', he said, "You can hate me for it, but I'm not a liar. Trump was gracious and measured. And why isn't that in other settings — I don't know, and I can't answer, and it's not my place to answer. I'm just telling you what I saw, and I wasn't high," he said.
The talk show host also mocked those who treated his White House visit like "some kind of summit" brokered by Kid Rock, calling them "ridiculous".
He said, "I have no power. I'm a f**king comedian, and he's the most powerful leader in the world! I'm not the leader of anything, except maybe a contingent of centrist-minded people who think there's got to be a better way of running this country than hating each other every minute."
During the show, Maher held up the printout of Trump's insults to him which the president had signed “with good humor".
