Billie Eilish stalker arrested for repeatedly visiting her home killed in train accident
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A man who was earlier arrested for allegedly stalking pop singer Billie Eilish, died after he was hit by an LIRR train on Wednesday, March 25, in Los Island, said officials.
The accident occurred around 5:38 am in Westbury, killing Prenell Rousseau.
Billie Eilish’s stalker hit by train while jogging
As per a law enforcement source, Prenell Rousseau, was jogging near the train track or on it when the accident happened, the New York Post reports.
Rousseau was accused of stalking Billie Eilish in 2020 when he repeatedly roamed around the singer’s home in Los Angeles. Later, she and her family received protection against him.
According to court documents, Rousseau appeared near the singer’s home, where she lived with her parents, on May 4 and 5 and was later arrested on the charge of trespassing.
Billie Eilish's stalker repeatedly rang singer’s doorbell
Before Rousseau was brought before the law on charges of trespassing, he repeatedly rang the singer’s doorbell and asked if she lived there. When Eilish's father told him through the surveillance camera that he was at the wrong doorstep, he persisted.
Later, the family had to seek help from private security after the man returned in the evening. According to Eilish’s statement filed in court, Rousseau was reluctant to leave even after the family called security.
“While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down, and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue.” “My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused,” Eilish continued.
Rousseau’s behavior frightened Eilish and her family, especially because he appeared at their home multiple times without a mask during the peak of the COVID period and touched the doorknob and doorbell without gloves.
Given heightened concerns about Eilish’s safety, the man was ordered to stay away from her for three years, according to court documents.
Later, Rousseau made an unsettling post including an illustration resembling the singer and wrote, “Anyway — I love u b … that is all.”
