LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish was seen tearing up in the audience at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2.

The moment quickly sparked debate online, with fans questioning whether she was upset over losing Album of the Year or simply emotional over Beyonce’s win.

Body language expert says Billie Eilish had 'genuine tears of elation'

The 23-year-old singer, who had eight nominations at the event, lost the prestigious award to Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter.’

The video led to speculation among fans about a possible Grammys snub while others believed she was showing admiration for the music icon.

Body language expert Darren Stanton weighed in on the debate, stating that Eilish’s emotions were genuine and not related to disappointment over losing.

"In terms of Billie Eilish’s reaction, some people may have thought that she was crying because she didn’t win, but I think they were genuine tears of elation and pride that Beyonce had won," Stanton told a publication, as per a report.

He added, "For most of the stars of this new younger generation, Beyonce is their icon - the biggest pop star of their childhood. Billie obviously has that empathy with Beyonce."

Did Billie Eilish's LA connection and Grammy's wildfire relief add to hemotion?

Darren Stanton also noted that her facial expressions suggested admiration rather than sadness.

"You could see in her eyes in the close-up that there were no signs of sadness despite the fact she was crying. It was a clear look of admiration and pride," he said.

Some believe Eilish’s emotional reaction could also be tied to the significance of the moment as a Los Angeles native.

The ceremony was dedicated to raising money for wildfire relief and firefighters from LA presented the Album of the Year award.

Daily Mail reported Eilish's waterworks started when Beyonce won a Grammy, suggesting her outburst was directly linked to it.

Fans claim Billie Eilish was 'robbed' of Album of the Year

Despite differing opinions on her reaction, many fans took to social media to express frustration over Billie Eilish not winning.

Some believed her album deserved more recognition.

"Record of the year should have been hers," wrote one on X. Another wrote, "Birds of a Feather was robbed."

"Got snubbed by a “country” album," one more wrote referring to Beyonce.

"This year was actually unbelievably unfair," someone else wrote about the event.

"The Grammys treating Billie like an ex who doesn’t appreciate what they had," wrote an X user.

"She lost every single nomination (7) even though this was her best album how could she not," a user wrote in response to a person who asked why she was crying.

"Lol she's crying for her girl Beyonce, you hardcore stans need to chill out," one user tried to assure fans.
