PARIS, FRANCE: The Paris Summer Olympics has seen a heartwarming encounter between tennis icon Billie Jean King and rapper-turned-commentator Snoop Dogg.

The duo recently shared a selfie, highlighting their surprising connection.

King, 80, took to Instagram to share the moment with her 52-year-old high school alumnus. "Met the incomparable Snoop Dogg. Both of us were born and raised in Long Beach, California, and graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School. LBC forever in our hearts," she wrote alongside a cheerful selfie with Snoop.

Snoop Dogg responded warmly in the comments, saying, "Love u. BJK. Poly high alumni. US."

Before encountering King, Snoop made news by dancing while carrying the Olympic torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis. He was one of the final torchbearers leading up to the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26.

In a video on the Paris Olympics' Instagram, Snoop, dressed in a white Olympics tracksuit and gold sneakers, is seen receiving the flame from the previous torchbearer before dancing through the streets and waving to fans. Reflecting on his role as torchbearer, Snoop recalled the iconic moment when Muhammad Ali, despite his battle with Parkinson's disease, lit the Olympic cauldron at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there. This is my own version of it,” Snoop said on a call with NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico on July 24. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special.”
