SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Rose from Blackpink is preparing to launch her debut solo album on December 6. Before embarking on this new journey, the 27-year-old K-pop icon revealed that she received some guidance from one of the most accomplished pop soloists — Taylor Swift.

With the release of 'Rosie' — Rose's 12-track debut LP as a solo artist — just around the corner, the singer shared insights into the connection she developed with the 34-year-old 'Anti-Hero' singer during a New York City gathering, as detailed in a cover story interview with I-D which was released on Monday, November 18. 

Rose reveals how Taylor Swift guided her through solo career challenges

In the interview, the artist behind 'APT' shared, “She [Swift] is literally the coolest, and she’s such a girl’s girl. She was telling me – make sure to take care of this, this and this – like, logistics.”

Rose also reflected on the challenges she faced when she started her career as a solo artist.

The singer stated, “She was trying to protect me. Me becoming solo, being independent, it’s not an easy thing. There are a lot of things I should be careful with, and she gave me a rundown on all the things I have to look out for."

Rose expressed that the "coolest part" of all this was “she’s killed it in the game, and she was kind enough to walk me through.” She also revealed that Swift had shared her phone number with the K-pop singer during her fan moment.

Rose said, “I told her I’m such a huge fan and I just had some questions. As soon as she met me, she’s like ‘Spill, let me help you out.’ She gave me her experiences and was so ready to help me. “

She went on to say, “She gave me her number and she’s like, ‘Let me know if you have any questions.’ Who does that? Like, you’re Taylor Swift!”
