Blake Lively 'knew there would be backlash' over legal fight with Justin Baldoni and was prepared: Source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively was "mentally and emotionally" prepared for the aftermath after she filed a harassment complaint and eventually a lawsuit against her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
"This wasn't a decision made on a whim — it was months in the making," a source told People.
"She knew there would be backlash, and she prepared herself for how mentally and emotionally difficult it would be. But she can't go through life knowing she didn't stand up to something she believed was wrong," they added.

Blake Lively wants to set good example for her daughters
The tipster also noted that the ‘Gossip Girl’ star, who is the mother of three girls and a boy, "never wants her daughters to stay silent in the face of injustice."
"Right now she's taking it one day at a time and staying focused on her No 1 priority: her family," they claimed.

This came as other reports speculated that Lively was "regretting" her decision to sue Baldoni.
"Blake is striving for normalcy in her life, but the past few weeks have been incredibly challenging. It seems like every move she makes is now under constant criticism. She feels like her entire life has been turned upside down," a source said, as per the Daily Mail.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to face 'repercussions for years to come’
Besides, the ‘A Simple Favor’ actress and her 48-year-old actor husband are also wanting to get back to their normal lives.
Another tipster said, "As the lawsuit rages on... Blake and Ryan have been trying to think about getting back some of their life they had before the allegations took over their world."
"Ryan was on a tremendous high with the success of [his 2024 movie] 'Deadpool', and Blake was living a pretty wonderful life herself. Whether it is found that they are in the right or not [in the fight with Baldoni], this will have repercussions for years to come," they added.

Blake Lively's lawyers call out Justin Bladoni and his attorneys
Meanwhile, on April 10, Blake Lively’s lawyers Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb accused the ‘Jane the Virgin’ actor and his attorneys of "leading the charge to tear down the very law that protects women who come forward about sexual assault, harassment and discrimination."

The two cited Assembly Bill (AB) 933, which was enacted to stop perpetrators of harassment from abusing defamation lawsuits to "sue their accusers into oblivion."
