LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively has been making headlines recently for her alleged feud with her 'It Ends With Us' co-star Justin Baldoni. Amid the controversy, the actress has landed in hot water again after her past interviews showed her using a derogatory term for transgender individuals repeatedly.

The renewed criticism began when a social media user highlighted a comment Lively made in a 2012 interview with Elle magazine, where she jokingly referred to her future children using the slur.

A social media user on X posted, "Sometimes I'll be quietly going about my day, and then I'll remember the time Blake Lively said this to a journalist," sharing an image of Lively's quote: "I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes, bags, and stories that need to be appreciated."

The term used by Lively has been recognized as offensive by the transgender community, with organizations like GLAAD condemning its use. Social media quickly reacted, with one user commenting, “I get what she was trying to say because someone better appreciate all that Vintage Versace she has. But she could’ve used different wording.”

Another user expressed disappointment by simply stating, "Not Lady Deadpool…"

"She deserves her cancellation 100%," a user said.

Another wrote, "You just blew up the whole smear campaign with this one."

"They are trying their best to cancel her," one person remarked.

This isn't the first time Lively has used the term. In a 2009 interview with Allure, while discussing her insecurities on the set of Gossip Girl, she said, "I feel like a tranny a lot of the time... I’m… large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes."

Lively also used the slur during a 2008 interview with Nylon, where she dismissed rumors of a feud with her 'Gossip Girl' co-star Leighton Meester, saying, "You read the gossip magazines and everybody is dating everyone, everybody hates everyone, everybody’s had tons of plastic surgery and we’re actually men and trannies. You don’t listen to the rumors."

Blake Lively slammed over 'It Ends With Us' drama

Lively has been promoting her latest film 'It Ends With Us' amid reports of tension with co-star and director Justin Baldoni. In addition to these controversies, Lively has faced criticism for prioritizing her new haircare line, Blake Brown Beauty, over addressing the film’s themes of domestic violence.

Fans have also pointed to instances of what they describe as "Regina George" behavior, including allegedly refusing to wear a fan-gifted bracelet on the red carpet.

The actress, who was showcasing the film in an elegant silver gown, opted not to wear the bracelet since it clashed with her ensemble, whereas her co-star Isabela Ferrer eagerly donned the gift right away.

"Oh my gosh, thank you so much,” she said, before adding, “I'm going to put it (away) because it doesn't go with my outfit but I will wear it later.” She also noted that the gesture was “so sweet.”

Ferrer, portraying the younger version of Lively's character Lily Bloom, instantly put on the bracelet, exclaiming, “Thank you! Oh my god, I’m going to put it on. Thank you so much!”

Lively gave a difficult 2016 interview that reportedly left a journalist contemplating quitting their job.

Kersti Flaa, who interviewed Blake Lively back in 2016, admitted she "wanted to quit" her job after an "uncomfortable" interview with the actress.

On Saturday, August 11, the reporter shared a clip from the interview on her YouTube channel, where Lively was accompanied by her 'Cafe Society' co-star Parker Posey.

Flaa described the encounter as "the most uncomfortable...situation" she has ever faced.
