Blake Lively's 'rude' behavior wore down woke feminist Justin Baldoni on 'It Ends with Us' set
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: An insider has revealed behind-the-scenes information that contributed to the on-set tension between Blake Lively and her co-star, as well as director Justin Baldoni, during the production of 'It Ends With Us'.
Rumors of difficulties with the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel have been widespread since the New York premiere on August 6, where Baldoni was notably absent from photographs with the rest of the cast.
Blake Lively was 'effortlessly rude' and created tension with Justin Baldoni
An insider has exclusively revealed to Daily Mail their observations of Blake Lively on the set of 'It Ends With Us', alleging that "everyone was a little bit afraid of Blake." Justin Baldoni, meanwhile, faced criticism as a "woke and performative feminist."
The insider revealed that Lively "wasn't mean - she was just so effortlessly rude." Although there "wasn't outward feuding or fighting," the 36-year-old actress's "so extraordinarily opinionated" and "strong feelings about things" created a lot of stress and tension during filming.
Tension was reported on the set whenever Lively was present, according to a source, due to her apparent expectation for workers to attend to her needs.
The insider said, "I got this impression from Justin that he was just really, really stressed and fatigued about this constant inability to control the project he was making… so much so that when you’d ask him questions, he'd be like, 'Well just ask Blake'… because when Blake got there she would have a lot of really strong thoughts and feelings."
On the first day back for shooting - after production had been waylaid by nine months of writer's strike - workers on set were desperate, dipping into their 401Ks, losing their houses, etc.
The insider thought it was "tone deaf" for Lively to bring her children to the set that day when the crew was going through personal hardships, in order to set up a booth to raise money for "sick kids and horses."
"There's nothing bad about having your kids be a part of your workplace, or having your kids be interested in activism… but it's hard not to have it feel insulting and performative. She’s clearly an advocate for the pretty blonde people in the world," the inside source stated.
Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively slammed for on-set challenges and privilege
After Blake Lively simultaneously promoted 'It Ends With Us' and her new hair care line Blake Brown, along with her brands Betty Booze and Betty Buzz, she garnered even more backlash from fans.
Some fans were appalled that the actress from 'Gossip Girl', who is married to 'Deadpool' actor Ryan Reynolds, decided to promote her brands alongside a movie addressing the grave issue of domestic abuse.
Following the backlash, numerous customers have returned their recently purchased hair care products to Target stores.
"This is a trauma and this was an opportunity to provide resources for a very underrepresented class who doesn't have a voice and instead she’s selling shampoo," the source opined.
Regarding the rumored discord, sources allege that Baldoni, aged 40, was equally challenging to work with on set. "Justin is very similar to her [Lively] in that he needs to be the smartest person in the room" the insider revealed.
Camera crews had to reblock filming because he allegedly had a sty on his eyelid for most of the shoot. "I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the visual effects budget was dedicated to editing it out," the source said.
The insider referred to Baldoni as a "performative feminist" and an "idiot." They claimed that Baldoni's brand is that of a "woke feminist"; in fact, he is the author of the book 'Undefining My Masculinity'.
"Both her and Justin are extraordinarily similar insofar that they're just very special little snowflakes with a shocking amount of privilege and a shockingly little amount of self-awareness. From what I watched, [the film feels like] two rich, entitled people who have NO experience with abuse and cosplaying what they imagine abuse could be like for hot people," the insider concluded.
