Body language expert explains Prince William's 'more relaxed' look is indicative of growing confidence
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Prince William is reportedly taking it easy in terms of royal fashion, which may be the result of his growing confidence in his position within the family, body language expert Judi James revealed to the Daily Mail.
The Prince of Wales has been spotted more frequently in sweaters and shirts over recent days instead of his usual sharp suits. The subtle change may hint at William becoming "more relaxed," suggested James.
Body language expert's opinion on Prince William's evolving style
Analyzing the shift in the way Prince William dresses, Judi James came to the conclusion that it was a result of a combination of factors, including confidence, priorities, and trust.
"William’s recent change of style and his much less cautious-looking and less formal body language seems to indicate both a growing confidence in terms of his stepping up to the throne and maybe an update in his priorities since Kate’s and his father’s (King Charles III) illnesses," expressed James.
She noted, "Some of his signals of inherent shyness have decreased and he looks happy to be more immersive and more relaxed as a result," adding that his being "relaxed and open" in public was the result of "slow-learned trust."
"So many of the barbs in his life have come from within his own closest family group. And perhaps he finally sees, feels, and appreciates the strong support and affection he can enjoy from the public," remarked James.
Prince William's fashion change may have been influenced by his children
Prince William's three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, who he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton, may also have had a hand in him appearing more relaxed, according to Judi James.
She shared, "William has three children that are getting to the age where they will often make comments or jokes about any out-of-date dad clothing and start to quietly revolutionize his look, especially as he seems to have been spending more time with them recently."
Williams has also reportedly started working with his wife's longtime stylist Natasha Archer, reported CheatSheet.
Prince William currently feels more in control of his own destiny as a royal
Judi James further stated, "His step-up closer to the throne might have created pressure as his responsibilities increased. But pressure and stress will often decrease when feelings of control increase."
"William’s recent outings seem to imply that he feels more in control of his own destiny as a royal than he did when he had his grandmother and father to answer to," added the body language expert
William became the first in line to the throne of England after his father, Charles, became king following his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's death in 2022.
