GREENVALE, NEW YORK: First lady Melania Trump made headlines after receiving the “Patriot of the Year” award. She attended the event alone, and her solo appearance quickly drew attention from both the media and critics.

Body-language expert Judi James observed that Melania glowed and carried herself “like a star in her own right” in President Donald Trump’s absence. James noted that Melania appeared fully composed, confident, and in complete command of her presence throughout the event.

Expert reveals Melania Trump’s gesture and body language in Donald Trump’s absence

On Thursday, November 7, Melania Trump was honored by Fox News. She captivated the audience with a seven-minute address, wearing a black Carolina Herrera long-sleeve gown with a thigh-high slit. The event was hosted by the conservative-leaning network on Long Island.

Everything about her appearance was noticed, but her body language drew particular attention. There was a clear shift in her gestures and presentation style. According to James, Donald Trump's absence did not negatively affect Melania; in fact, it appeared to enhance her “levels of visual confidence,” according to Daily Mail.

She appeared composed and spoke with assurance. “If Donald's absence from this event affected his wife's mood at all, it was to boost rather than decrease her levels of visual confidence,” James said.

James also highlighted Melania’s formal portrait for her second term as First Lady, which portrayed her like a CEO with power dressing, splayed arms, and a strong, commanding gaze. She explained that Melania’s award acceptance speech reflected a similar narrative, as she embraced solo attention, soaked up the ovation, and addressed her audience confidently.

James identified three key areas that contributed to Melania’s on-stage confidence: pace, timing, and control rituals. She noted that Melania’s handshake with host Sean Hannity displayed “soft control,” while her measured walk demonstrated elegance and awareness of her surroundings.

Melania Trump receives Patriot of the Year award a year after Donald Trump’s victory

Melania Trump accepted the award one year after President Donald Trump received the same honor following his 2024 victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris, according to The Washington Post.

During her speech, Melania expressed gratitude to the “American patriots” in the audience and those watching from home. “Without you, I wouldn’t be standing here today,” she said, urging recognition and support for those who “dare to think differently.”

The 7th annual Patriot Awards took place on November 6 at the Tilles Centre at LIU Post in Greenvale, New York.
