PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: President Joe Biden turned emotional while talking about his family members' military service, including his late son Beau Biden, in the wake of former President Donald Trump's alleged disrespectful remarks about fallen American soldiers.

Speaking to a crowd of union workers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, April 17, Biden again condemned his predecessor's remarks during his 2018 Paris trip, where he refused to visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and called the more than 1800 American military members who died at Belleau Wood "suckers" and those at the US cemetery as "losers," according to NBC News.

The Atlantic first reported the ex-president's disparaging comments, which former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly later confirmed.

Joe Biden chokes up

"They asked [Trump] to go visit American gravesites. He said, 'No.' He wouldn't do it. Because they were all 'suckers' and 'losers," the 81-year-old incumbent said. "I'm not making that up. The staff who were with him acknowledge it today. Suckers and losers."

Turning emotional, the president remained silent momentarily and continued, "That man doesn't deserve to have been the commander in chief for my son, my uncle."

Biden's elder son, who died in 2015, and his uncle Ambrose Finnegan were military members before Trump assumed the presidency.

Trump's campaign condemned Biden for reiterating the accusation, claiming the former president never made such remarks.

"Joe Biden is repeating an old and tired lie about President Trump to deflect from the fact that he has is the weakest Commander in Chief in history," Karoline Leavitt, the Republican White House hopeful's national press secretary, said.

"When President Trump is back in the White House, he will rebuild our military and restore peace, once again."

Though Biden has frequently brought up his opponent's 2018 remarks, this is the first time he directly linked it to his family members.

Previously, at a campaign rally in Scranton, his childhood hometown in Pennsylvania, on April 16, the president expressed his rage towards the GOP presumptive nominee for insulting the military members, asking, "Who the hell does he think he is?"

Biden said his anger towards Trump resurfaced when he visited a war memorial in Scranton as part of his three-city tour of the Keystone State.

Internet criticizes Joe Biden

Netizens lashed out at Biden for citing Trump's remarks on fallen US soldiers and linking it with the military service of his elder son and uncle.

One user called Biden a "Born Politician." Meanwhile, another asked, "Was that when he was lying about his family’s military history or when he was repeating the lie about Trump?"

"Nobody is buying this," a third user remarked. Someone else added, "Biden is nothing but a disgrace. Oh and a liar."

A fifth response read, "So he’s lying again."

Another user said, "Everything he has said about his family is a damn lie."

A user fumed, "Was that when he told the story of his uncle being eaten by cannibals in guinea? Who believes this kook?
