Brad Pitt to 'dump America' and settle down in Europe after 'heartbreaking' estrangement with children
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt is reportedly looking forward to “dumping America” and setting his roots in Europe after his spiraling relationship with his children with ex Angelina Jolie.
A source close to the 60-year-old ‘Troy’ actor recently spoke out about his desire to settle down in Europe as the actor spent a considerable portion of the summer in his French estate in Chateau Miraval with his girlfriend Ines De Ramon, 31.
Pitt’s close friend George Clooney, 63, who also resides in Italy with his wife Amal, 46, is reportedly inspiring Pitt to take up residence across the pond.
Brad Pitt is looking forward to taking up residence in Europe
Speaking about the actor’s connection with Los Angeles, a source close to the actor recently shared with Life & Style, “Brad has considered LA home for so long, it’s where his production company is based and so much of his real estate, plus he’s always felt like it was the best place to connect with his kids and give them some stability.”
However, his disintegrating relationship with his six children with Angelina Jolie has left the ‘Bullet Train’ actor distraught.
“But sadly, he’s rarely able to see them these days, which is heartbreaking for him," revealed the source.
Another insider previously revealed that the ‘Babylon’ actor felt the final blow when his and Jolie’s biological daughter Shiloh decided to drop her famous father’s surname upon turning 18.
The source shared, “Shiloh did not give her father a heads-up about her decision, and he was blindsided.”
“He’s absolutely heartbroken. Of all the kids, he was always closest to Shiloh and unaware their relationship had changed,” added another source.
They continued that Pitt “feels Angie has slowly but surely turned their children against him,” before noting, “Brad believes she absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from him.”
The estrangement has reportedly inspired Pitt to sell his massive Los Angeles mansion last year “because it felt so empty, and he wanted to escape the memories,” as he “raised” his children there.
Previously, the insider noted, “He’s still haunted by being so close to them and yet so far. He’s now saying a change of scenery might be what his mind needs, at least until they start wanting to spend time with him again, which he hopes and prays will one day happen.”
George Clooney inspires Brad Pitt to take up residence in Europe
As Brad Pitt turned to his close friend George Clooney to nurse his broken heart, his ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ co-star reportedly advised him to welcome a change in scenery.
The source added, “George has been raving to him about how much better living full-time in Europe is and has convinced him it’s easy enough to run a production company from overseas.”
With his dismal relationship with his children, Pitt has nothing to hold him back to Los Angeles and finds the idea of settling in Europe quite enticing.
Another source spilled to the outlet, “Brad loves France and Italy and has spent a lot of time in the UK as well, so the whole idea of dumping his life in America for a fresh start is beyond appealing.”
