LONDON, ENGLAND: ‘Bridgerton’ actress Golda Rosheuvel found her own happily ever after as she tied the knot with her longtime partner Shireen Mulan in a "low-key" ceremony shortly before Christmas.

At 54, the British actress has undeniably found her perfect match in playwright and theater artist Shireen, 53. The couple, who have been in a relationship for over a decade, recently revealed that they exchanged vows at the end of 2023.

Golda Rosheuvel and Shireen Mula have been together for a long time

For more than a decade, the actress, known for her role as Queen Charlotte in the popular Netflix series, has been in a relationship with Shireen Mula.

One source close to the couple told The Mirror, "Golda and Shireen have been together a long time - long before Golda found fame with Bridgerton. They have been through a lot together. And last year they decided the timing was right to make things official and tie the knot."

"It was the complete opposite of a Bridgerton-style wedding - there were no extravagant displays or hundreds of guests. The wedding itself was incredibly low-key," they added.

"But it felt right for the two of them and their friends and family are so happy for them both," the source added.

Golda rose to prominence in theater, with a few notable on-screen roles, but her most renowned performance came as Queen Charlotte in the critically acclaimed Netflix drama series 'Bridgerton.'

Shireen and Golda share a passion for acting and theater. The actress revealed to The Guardian in 2022 that they initially crossed paths in the "traditional way — at a friend's party."

The British actress has often publicly praised her partner, noting that embracing pride has had a "grounding effect" on her, per Daily Mail.

"The attention has been a big adjustment and it's great to have somebody there who can hold you in the moments you find difficult and help you navigate the ups and downs," Golda told Tatler.

Shireen Mula is a playwright and helped Golda land her 'Bridgerton' role

According to her website, Shireen is a playwright with experience in London and various cities worldwide. She has lectured on drama and performance at London South Bank University, served as an associate artist at theaters in South Korea and London, and authored over a dozen plays.

In 2022, Shireen served as a Secret Cinema writer for the immersive fan event 'Bridgerton Experience.' The event featured dinner and a show for attendees dressed in Regency-era costumes, accompanied by period-appropriate music and dancing.

Golda claimed in a 2023 interview with Shondaland that Shireen assisted her in getting the part of Queen Charlotte in 'Bridgerton.'

Following a rejection for the role of Lady Danbury, Golda was invited to audition for the part of Queen Charlotte. Ultimately, she succeeded, securing the role and appearing in three seasons of 'Bridgerton.' Her portrayal even led to the creation of a spinoff series titled 'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.'

Golda and Shireen support each other's careers

On the 'Just for Variety' podcast in 2022, Golda discussed winning the Equality Award from the LGBTQ+ advocacy group Human Rights Campaign.

She talked about how Shireen helped her in her efforts to change representation on screen and be outspoken about her sexuality, per People.

Golda said at the time, "My partner always says, ‘The mere fact that you’re on the screen. The mere fact that you’re in Bridgerton as a Black, biracial, cis-gender, lesbian playing the first Black queen of England. The fact that you’re there is immense.’"
