Britney Spears reveals cutting off many people from her life over 'mind games' as ex Sam Asghari moves on

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is on the path of cutting people from her life due to “mind games.”

The 42-year-old songstress recently shared a candid post on Instagram where she shared that she has already cut ties with some of her acquaintances. 

The ‘Baby One More Time’ singer’s life update came just a few days after her ex Sam Asghari was spotted at a West Hollywood park with a mystery blonde on Wednesday, per TMZ.

On Saturday, September 14, the ‘Toxic’ singer took to her Instagram to share a lengthy post where she reflected on “self identity” while claiming she is “coming full circle.”

Accompanying the post, Spears shared three throwback pictures from last year. She wrote in the caption, “Reposting pics, but they look identical to the last video posted!!!”

Spears continued, “Images of me last year that make sense and look similar to this year!!! I think it's good for self identity, self awareness and self esteem.”

Among the three uploaded pictures, two consisted of identical selfies of the songstress posing under the shadow of a tree wearing a white crop top. In another image, Spears boldly posed in a white bikini bottom - with her top half bare save a flower and her hand hands placed strategically. 

She continued in her post, “I can't tell you how many people I've split from this past year because of mind games…”

The ‘Gimme More’ songstress confessed, “Sweet naive girl like me and BOOM in two seconds… people can really damage your confidence if you were too open like me !!!”

The mother-of-two admitted, in conclusion, “So I'm coming full circle and these 3 pics were the main ones that were identical in looks as my recent gold dress… I like for things to make sense in this crazy world.”

This is, however, not the first time that Spears has reflected on the past and talked about images from the past year. 

In another post from July, the ‘Circus’ singer shared a dance video -- apparently from the past year -- while writing to her 42 million followers, “It’s time for a throwback this week !!! And oh boy I know how to tell ‘em don’t I 🙈🙈🙈🙈😂🥲🥲🥲 ??? It’s perspective I guess !!!”

Referencing to the attached video, she wrote, “This was me almost a year ago in September !!! I look way younger and way smaller !!!”

She also said during that time that she needed to recap the past year. “I guess I need to brace myself and slow down and recap the past year because I think I had a false confidence after my divorce !!!”

The singer’s ex Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Spears in August 2023, after tying the knot in 2022. The former couple finalized their divorce in May 2024. 

Spears continued to write, “Although I did post some of my best work with “Ray of Light” and “I’m Addicted” by Madonna !!! There was a lot of WTF 😬 moments !!!”

“Trust me I know we’re all human and make mistakes !!! I literally need to go back and adjust and possibly do a couple more therapy sessions !!!,” admitted the Grammy-winnning singer. 

She concluded her post, saying, “I apologize for not being perfect and I will try and get confidence and consistency back like I used to have 😘😘😘 !!!”
