During the game on Tuesday, Clark was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon, was shoved by Marina Mabrey, and later hit with a technical foul, which referees described as "unsportsmanlike conduct".

Apart from Clark, Mabrey and Tina Charles were also assessed technical fouls over the incident, while Sheldon was assessed a flagrant 1 foul. Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham was ejected from the court during the game. Fever ultimately won the game 87-71.

After the game, Sun’s coach Rachid Meziane said that Sophie’s behaviour was "completely stupid".

"For me, it’s just disrespectful to do that foul when you are winning the game by 17 points, completely stupid," the coach said, per Sportstar.

Interestingly, this is the latest in a string of physical incidents that have involved Clark, The Spun reported.

Moreover, she recently returned from a two-week injury and opposing players are being very physical with her, the outlet reported.

Fever coach Stephanie White said about Clark, per the outlet, "It was pretty obvious that stuff was brewing. When the officials don’t get control of the ball game, when they allow that stuff to happen, and it’s been happening all season long. It’s not just this game, this is what happens, right?"

Caitlin Clark fan's push her to leave WNBA

Several Caitlin Clark fans pushed the star player to quit WNBA after she was involved in a bit of a brawl during the third quarter of the Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun game.

A fan wrote on X, "Caitlyn Clark needs to leave the WNBA as soon as she can. The league is actively trying to injure her. Their hatred for her is incredibly obvious. This is insane. She is bigger than the league," while one added, "Caitlin Clark should leave the league. Join whatever other league there is out there and say f**k you to the WNBA. No one cares about this league. They only tune in to watch Clark and they will do they where she plays."

A person also stated, "Caitlin Clark should leave the WNBA and let them tank. Let the whole organization burn and go bankrupt. She put the WNBA on the map and has been treated terribly ever since. Shows that women would rather see them all fail than have 1 star bring them all up," whereas one mentioned, "Caitlin needs to step away, not get back on the court until this is addressed Downright dangerous for her long term health."

A user also wrote, "Caitlin Clark should walk from the wnba. She doesn't need this s**t. They need her more than she needs them. Theyd be taking school buses to games if not for her. She should play elsewhere with people not jealous of and/or racist against her. The league has handled it poorly," while one commented, "Clark should quit and sue the hell out of the WNBA. No point in playing for a league that doesn’t give a damn about you. It’s ridiculous."
